Grindy repetitive Metal Gear Solid slightly reskinned with some elements borrowed from its namesake predecessor. For anyone thinking this is Death Stranding 2, it is Not. If you still get the game, save yourself a lot of time by Not trying to play this like the first installment. No need for zip-lines, bridges, roads, ladders or terrain traversal construction that was critical in the first game. Here just jump into a truck as soon as you get one and drive everywhere. You can drive up snowy mountains, across rivers, everywhere. And just run over any enemies. No point in building anything but charging stations (of playing offline) or postboxes (gear work benches). Had I known this in advance I'd have shaved half the game time off. Even so, that still leaves 2/3 of it being repetition. For instance doing the same friggin battle 3 times for a mission. And having to repeat that mission three times. 9 repetitions just there. And then there's back-tracking. And yes, the bases captured aren't really captured, they're respawened so no sense of progress nor affecting the world either. This means any back-tracking means re-doing the same thing over and over just there. Given this is a cut-scene heavy game, one would have expected at least good performances. But no. Horrible acting, lines and line delivery. Think a B movie version of the B movies that are Jason Stratham movies, and that about the quality. On the positive note, the graphics are breathtaking. The audio and music is as spotless as in the first game. So if you are after a cinematic marvel that can run as a screensaver, this is the best such ever produced. Kudos to the graphics and sound/music teams. If there was a Meh option, that'd been the rating, but since there isn't I have to evaluate this game on its cost and entertainment value. The cost is very high, about $80 and though there is _some_ entertainment, 80% of the time spent is on mindbogglingly boring repetition. Get a proper Metal Gear solid if you're after that experience. Get Death Stranding 1 if you want that experience instead. This is a sad mishmash that doesn't mix well.
Death Stranding 2 suffers from the same problems Mass Effect 2 had. Following on from a meticulous constructed game, themes and story it shaved off all the rough edges and filed off any difficulty in order to appeal to a larger audience. In doing so sacrificing most of what made the original great to begin with. Also suffers from the problems Mass Effect 2's story had. In essence it is a closed loop. The problems are all created and resolved within itself. Between the start of Death Stranding 2 or Mass Effect 2 for that matter nothing has really progressed or changed for both the world or characters we follow in any measurable way. By the end I almost got the feeling that Kojima had said all he wanted to say in Death Stranding 1. It is almost like he was under contract to make a sequel for Sony and ended up just phoned it in and it shows. What this means is if Death Stranding 1 was a work of art. Death Stranding 2 feels like a photo of that art, on a high def phone screen shown to you by someone at work from a previous vacation they took. It is an answer to a question nobody needed to ask. I am sorry Mr Kojima, for the first time I have to say "No I did not rike it"
слышь кадзима нормальную игру сделал
other than a handful of improvements, its just worse death stranding 1.

Loved the story, still got lost multiple times with the plot, but had one hell of a time, the game might not be for everyone, it's a slow burn type of game, didn't bother doing all the deliveries and still spent like 80h~ in the game. The game ran pretty good on both my older gpu (6800XT) around 75fps capped with room to spare at 1440p high settings with PICO on quality setting, and my current one 5070ti everything on high with PICO on Native AA capped at 75 too, so i dont bake with the summer heat + the gpu heat. The graphics are really good and the art direction *chef kiss*. I'd say you could jump in and play 2 since it has a recap of the events of 1 ingame, but you'd be making a mistake, the experience from the first game for me was way better, the BT encounters where more stressful, not everyone had guns, while this game just gives you guns almost from the start which makes combat a bit trivial. It's still worth grabbing with a discount if you are a fan, and if you are on the fence and you haven't played the first one maybe try that one since it gets way cheaper around major seasonal sales.
я плакал.

I am a huge fan of Director Kojima, so my comments aren't necessarily objective. This game is amazing.
今天从14章到通关,看完cast只觉得有点空虚,缓了缓马上就去刷白金了。
Fragile走得太突然我甚至没反应过来…再加上年初去看音乐会时被剧透了tmr似乎就是洛,当时在座位上哭得死去活来,回家后也花了一段时间消化这件事;;
