Death Drives A Bus

Very charming game! I knew from the get-go I'd like this game. So death' side job as a bus driver comes in handy when his horse falls ill. So drive around, pick the dead up and drop them off to heaven or heck. The puzzles become, in my opinion, quickly challenging, but not frustrating. It helps a lot with the simple interface and quick rest. Also, the i.d.'s of the dead people, doesn't do anything but it's such a great detail to add in. At the moment of writing (sept22,20), the achievements on Linux (mint) do not work, but an in-game save keeps track of your progress. EDIT: (Jun15,22) Steam achievements have been fixed.

At first the game seems a bit intimidating, but the controls and the concept are very easy to grasp once you are past the first two levels. It becomes ridiculously fun after trying to solve each level. It is a great little puzzle game, neatly programmed, catchy music. Definitely worth it!

영혼들을 적절한 장소로 보내주면 되는 퍼즐게임 사신이 타고다니던 말이 병에 걸리게 되자, 말 대신 버스를 이용해 영혼들을 태우자 ! 라는 결심으로 버스를 몰게 되는 스토리다. 퍼즐들의 목표는 모든 영혼을 태워서 천국 또는 지옥으로 보내주면 된다. 다만, 몇 가지 규칙 때문에 게임이 어려워지는데 : 1. 착한 영혼은 천국에, 악한 영혼은 지옥에 내려줘야 한다. 2. 영혼을 태운 뒤 천국이나 지옥에 내려주게 되면, 한 명 한 명 조작할 수 있는 게 아니라 한꺼번에 내리기 때문에 괜히 착한 영혼과 악한 영혼을 같이 태우면 안된다. 또한 버스는 최대 6명밖에 태울 수 없기 때문에 누구를 먼저 태울 것인지 계산을 해 보아야 한다. 3. 버스는 연료가 정해져 있기 때문에 일정 턴이 지나면 자동으로 게임 오버가 되어 레벨을 다시 시작해야 한다. 그러니까, 중반에 삐끗해서 연료 낭비를 하게 되면 레벨을 처음부터 시작해야 한다... 즉, 적절한 위치에서 영혼 태워주고 내려주기 + 연료 제한 때문에 대충 보면 쉬워보이는 게임이 퍼즐을 푸면 풀수록 어려워진다. 개인적으로도 총 50레벨 중에 한 30레벨만 지나도 퍼즐들이 만만하지 않다고 느껴졌다. 다만, 한 가지 아쉬웠던 점은 레벨 내 되돌리기 기능이 없어 잘못 클릭이라도 하면 무조건 처음부터 다시 시작해야 한다는 점이었다. 턴 되돌리기만 있었어도 이동 경로를 생각해보고 도전해보는게 쉬웠을 것 같아서 더욱 아쉽다. 그래도, 결론적으로 가격 대비 분량이 혜자이고, 다른 1100원짜리 퍼즐게임에 비해 퍼즐의 난이도나 컨셉을 잘 잡았기 때문에 값싼 퍼즐게임을 찾는다면 한 번 해보는 걸 추천한다. 여담) 영혼들을 태우면 화면 오른쪽에 영혼의 이름, 직업, 및 사망 이유가 나오는데, 이것도 나름 읽어보는 재미가 있다. 물론 후반부로 갈수록 퍼즐 푸느라 자연스럽게 읽을 기력이 없어서 안 읽게 되었다...

this game deserves more user reviews, so here's one: + nice pixel art. very authentic in recreating the era they're going for. + fun chiptunes soundtrack. + stimulating puzzles, which are tough but you can reason through them if you sit and think a bit. + fun sense of humor. all in all, I'd definitely recommend this if you're into puzzlers (or good games in general). enjoying my time with it so far, it's a small game that feels tightly designed around a strong central idea.

This game brings back the days when graphics were done by manipulating character set maps. The puzzle mechanic is very unusual and provides a great new challenge when you're tired of copycat puzzles.

It is quite fitting that the road to [strike]hell[/strike] heck is littered with traffic jams. Death Drives A Bus is a great little package. Most stages seem to have multiple possible solutions but that doesn't stop them from being quite perplexing from time to time. If you're a fan of puzzle games you really can't go wrong with this title for the price it's being offered at.
