A short review of Deadly daycare. https://youtu.be/2xgxUgFzPls in short I LOVE IT! it's tamaguchi in VR! The gameplay is fun and VR beginners friendly. I loved the art-style, the music is great and there is concept art scattered all around the game. you can see the developers put a lot of love into this. The only Drawback is that its short and there is no replaybility. After you played both monsters there is no reason to play it again. But the whole package, even though it’s small it’s good.
Cozy ♥
Before I played Deadly Daycare VR, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
"Deadly Daycare VR" is just another student project dumped onto the Steam store, one of thousands. It's from University of Utah in Utah (obviously). This is an academic exercise, not a professional game. While it has more quality than most amateur games, it is not a complete gaming experience. Student projects have limited value for gamers because they're not fully developed games, just barely functional demos that show the students progress. Steam is not a place for for-profit colleges to dump student homework assignments... and having thousands of these is not good for gamers. The students made a simple and shallow VR tech demo where you can wave your arms around in VR to feed monsters in a daycare for monsters. I mean, maybe search for better jobs. The experience, like all student projects, is shallow beyond being just a tech demo, a portfolio entry for students to try get jobs rather than being aimed to make a full game for gamers, which is a problem. On the important subject of visuals, this features fairly low quality stylised/cartoony low poly 3D graphics. It comes across as the kind of thing you see on mobile phones and Nintendo games, which will deter a lot of PC gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and to be considered one of the best games on Steam, the graphics have to be some of the best on Steam. That's not happening here. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. It would be unethical for students to try charge money for their homework assignments, so you don't have to pay any money for this. But you'd still have to spend your time downloading this, and "time is money", as they say. There's the other problem, too... as a student project, this wasn't made for gamers. There's no requirement for them to polish and balance the game properly, all they need is something to show the faculty so they can get their grade and move on. Let's once more ask... why is that good for gamers? It's obviously not delivering a solid product. Yet here it is, on the store page, and here you are, reading my review for a student demo that's going to waste your time. While genuine amateur developers who made real products get ignored because they have to compete with this stuff. In some ways, this deluge of student projects on Steam is harmful to everyone. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Keep in mind this student project won't increase your game collector count or show up in your Steam profile showcases, and because it's a short, unpolished and unmaintained student homework assignment, I can't recommend you spend your valuable time on this one when you could be playing any of the thousands of fully made games for gamers. At the end of the day, my reviews are intended to help gamers find quality and avoid the dregs (with over 140,000 games on Steam... not all of them are masterpieces). If you think my review is wrong, definitely add this to your library, download it and play it... it's surely exactly the kind of game you'll love (but I doubt it will work out that way). Game reviews are for gamers to share their thoughts and help others choose where to spend valuable time. If my review helps you to grab or reject this game, then my job is done.
