About
The year is 1995, and you're newly single, ready to mingle... and fresh off the plane in Stradania, the dysfunctional micronation whose chief exports are pig iron, human misery, and radioactive souvenir mugs.
Your travel guides have steered you to the hottest nightclub in town. Now it's up to you to seize the evening by getting up close and intimate with Stradania's Most Eligible Vaguely Handsome Self-Absorbed Guys You Happened to Spot in the Club:
Dan - Half man, half existential crisis; subsists on a steady diet of Rimbaud, imported cigarettes, and unmarked pills.
Fixer - The kind of person whose opinions have opinions. Don't get him started on data tapes - you'll be there all night.
Sandman - Mysterious hacker of few words and even fewer discernible emotions. Smells vaguely of anti-flea shampoo.
Shitparade - The leading authority on terrible VR trips, forever on the lookout for somebody to inflict them on.
NoK00l - Stradania's techwear king. Once spent a month's salary on a package of "tactical socks," a fact he still brags about.
Jack - Your friendly neighborhood bartender, always ready with a word of encouragement and a novelty cocktail. Oddly unfazed by his club's creepy decor.
You soon realize all these characters have other things going on, something far bigger than trying to get laid on a Saturday night... But what is it? It's up to you to find out!
Dates & Wires is the official otome spin-off of cyberpunk webcomic Drugs & Wires. The Steam-exclusive Augmented Edition includes:
A full additional day of content
Almost 2.5 times more words
A plethora of graphical updates, included shinied-up sprites and animations
Professional partial voice acting
New music by MATT HART
Two days of whirlwind romance in glorious Stradania
6 dateable characters with multiple possible endings and unlockable souvenirs
6 - 8 hours of playtime, with almost 60,000 words of content
Hidden scenes, dialogue, and more depending on play order and choices - multiple playthroughs recommended!
Gender-neutral protagonist
Music by NINGEN
The order in which you choose to tackle the dates will have long-term effects on dialogue, scenes, and options - don't be afraid to save and experiment a little to see what happens.
There are nine unlockable souvenirs in the game, eight of which are obtained from the main characters' best outcomes. The ninth? Save your energy for someone special that night, and perhaps the dark prince will answer your calling...
Dates & Wires contains minor language, references to drug and alcohol abuse, suicide mention, implied off-screen death in one of the bad endings, implied sexual content and clumsy BDSM practices in one scene.
Also contains harsh experimental noise and a few minor jump scare-ish moments.

The music, the voice acting, and artworks are all super nice. I especially appreciate the post-Soviet atmosphere as someone coming from a post-Soviet country :) The game was enjoyable to play, though I wish I had some more time to spend with the boys.
I met a cute boy who makes me laugh. He beat up a bear. 10/10
I love the Webcomic and this game is a lot of fun! Great atmosphere, I really hope Lin won´t show up to steal my characters implants... Good job Cryo and Io!
Going from "oh myyyy~" to "oh my god that's so f'ed up" in the space of 24 (virtual) hours... A+!!!
I really enjoyed "Dates & Wires"! The cyberpunk 90s Post-Soviet vibe is bringing a very unique atmosphere to the game. I really liked the different story-lines and how you got to experience and learn more about the world this is set in. (It also made me wanna read more of the comic - just started it recently.) I'd love to see them all work together to defeat
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
and who is behind it. The art is so beautiful too!
I wish I could say I was surprised at the lengths that the MC went for a hookup but honestly, nah I'm not and I've done worse. I loved how intricate the script was with the order of dates really having an effect on later dates had in each playthrough. Also, laughed my ass off at both the ballpit in the "Super VIP room" and at Fixer staring out the window as I picked up Yegor for a date.
Dates and Wires is an excellent VN with great humour, dialogue and depth! It works brilliantly as a companion to the webcomic Drugs and Wires or a fun standalone that has cool lore to glean as you try to steal the hearts of some cyberpunks! The paths are varied, the art is cool and striking, and the music is a vibe. If you like VNs, Cyberpunk themes with retrofuturism sprinkled in...this'd be a good pick for you!
The art is gorgeous, the voice acting is fun and nicely done, and I'm already SO intrigued by how much is available to do during 'day one'/Date one time!!?? I'm excited for more!!!
Note: I received a free copy of this game for my curator, Games for Hopeless Romantics. Dates & Wires is based off a webcomic I'm not familiar with, and I didn't really look up any information about the comic before starting the game--I just wanted to see how it held up on its own. The MC of the game is basically a random tourist, so they're not familiar with the characters or the country either. There's no grand plot, just trying to casually date the guys in the cast, although there are also aspects of cyberpunk worldbuilding. Rather than picking a single route, the conceit of Dates & Wires is that you can choose to try to hook up with any of the six main guys in any order on the same night--the order you choose affects dialogue you get and events that can happen, and in some cases doing a specific order is necessary in order to get the best outcome. If you succeed in the first date, you can go on a second date the day after (only one in a single playthrough; there's a menu to choose between the ones you've unlocked). Ultimately, the focus is on comedy; the game isn't long enough for much in the way of intrigue or long-term romance, but there are some hints of bigger things happening in the background and short epilogues with some of the cast indicating that they and the MC continue to keep in touch after MC leaves. While I enjoyed the game well enough for what it was, I did get the feeling while playing it that it would be better appreciated by someone who's already a fan of the webcomic.
