Darkest Dungeon® II

I spent many hours playing the switch version of the first game but this one feels considerably harder and more demanding even without using the optional stygian flame to spice things up. I find it to be a touch too much to be enjoyable, and there are myriad systems you have to juggle to have any kind of real success in a run this time around. In the first game I felt like I could really rip through a dungeon if I just came prepared and leveled a few characters but this one feels way more at the mercy of luck (I have never ONCE received a positive quirk on a character from interacting with things on the road in 50ish hours of play and by god my heroes will NOT form a positive relationship unless I spent all my gold on inn items). It's not that much like the first game as far as the out of combat sections go. I think there's something good here overall if you're willing to let it stand apart from DD1 but man you had better be prepared to be frustrated by standard enemies fairly often.
