I've played this game on epic quite a bit and bought it for steam as well. It's a fun twist on the first game, combat is similar, but a lot less number crunchy. There is much to learn, but unlocking all the chracters and their backstory as you learn new abilities and find neat combos/synergies is definitely worth your time if you enjoy gritty strategy in a longer format game. It requires you dedicate some time to really understand it and I'm not quite there yet since I took a longer break from it. Honestly, this game is worth getting simply for the lovecraftian vibes and Wayne June's wonderful voice guiding you through it all <3 Immaculate Atmosphere

Having played darkest dungeon 1 a long time ago, and now revisiting it along with it's sequel (yes i am playing both simultaneously), i can absolutely recommend Darkest dungeon 2 to any Darkest dungeon 1 lover, or roguelike lover like myself. The game is stunning, addicting, inmersive, and profound. People that were expecting the same thing as the first one will probably be a little dissapointed (which explains the lower rating on steam), but for those who can get into the sequel with open minds will apreciate it for what it is, and what a greit thing it is. I would say that it has some elements that are a lot more tedious that the first one (mainly that unlocking skins takes too long), but as a whole, its such a must have experience for anyone that likes RPGs. Great job Redhook
i still hate this game
나는 아직도... 아직도 4막을 깨지 못했다...!!!! 아직도...!!!!!
enjoyed the gameplay and story. Think its better than the first game.

Bro how is this game only mixed review??? This is one of the best turnbase rpg rougue-like games I've played in a long time and it's got me totally obsessed. I love the art style and the new kingdom mode is also such a banger (the confession mode is amazing too, I played confession first and loved both the playstyle and story-telling. I also felt kingdom is pretty unique to dd2 in both playstyle and progression). I think this is the kind of game where the more you play and the more you can get out of it. I've also been learning from the community to discover different ways to play a character, a team, and I still feel there is so much more to explore. I have to say I'm in love with the character backstories and how interactive this process is. I got the dlcs/expansions as well to explore all the characters and feel the ways they play. And they have a comic book coming out too?! I cannot wait. I would love to see even more from this game in the future. And I might go and explore dd1 as well.
