Dark Ages

Another one of the Apogee / 3D Realms games. And it’s an interesting contrast to the last one I’ve played, Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure. Because this one is from the same developer, but came out a year earlier and somehow is more refined and interesting to play. It’s not a mere platformer, but you also get to shoot at your enemies as well. Other than that, it’s still fairly simple, explore the levels to get whatever item the wise man in the level wants and he opens up the exit for you. It also suffers from the really low framerate, but the artist at least somewhat restrained themselves in order to not assault your eyes with too many clashing colors. But it’s still not pretty to look at, with certain enemies being almost invisible depending on the backgrounds.

All I can say is that this guy has been using his Thigh Master.
