I'm making this review after having played Les Fleurswords another game from these developpers. I'll start off with the obvious issues with the translation that can ruin the story for people. It's yet another game that doesn't benefit from how short it is. It feel like it took a long time to properly get started and once more, plotpoints that are either resolved way too quickly or lead to no real consequences. The MC is the daughter of the king, ok but why is the plot going nowhere in regards to teaching her how to be a lady ? They give her 2 lessons and it's over. Similarily, the death of the aunt stay unresolved, they never truly investigate it. The romances have a hard time happening without being a bit shoe-horned and chemistry isn't really felt until the end. In terms of characters we got Henry, Lentis, Carrol and our main character Tieriah : Henry is the mysterious thief that storm the city at night to steal from the rich to give to the poor kind of deal. His story is interesting but the ending a bit lacking compared to the 2 others. His ending is just him showing his siblings to Tieriah which isn't very interesting. His ending CG are also relatively... poor in term of drawing quality compared to the others 2, you could say he was the least favorite of the developpers. Lentis the skirt chasing prince of the kingdom, The romance is fairly weird until pretty much the end, you don't feel chemistry between the characters until they force it down your throat. The endings is interesting albeit weird, shouldn't Tieriah be the princess consort if she married Lentis ? Or hell, queen if he became the king... Why is she a basic housewife then ? In term of CGs, his romance is the one who has the most but they're only second best in quality to Carrol's. Carrol is the adopted son/butler of Shirith also the kid who saved Tieriah from the fire 14 years ago. Similarily to Lentis, the romance is nearly non existent until the end. The ending is probably the better of the 3, doesn't feel out of place. He has the best CG quality out of every romance choice, very good CGs albeit small in numbers. Tieriah, the main characters isn't a boring potted plant MC which is a huge plus in my book. She fend for herself and rarely put up with the romance choices ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when there's any. My only grip is due to the story itself rather than the character in regards to the lady who adopted her, she seem to "forget" about her death pretty quickly in the sense that she doesn't pursue who might've killed her. The CGs being so different from one romance to the others is a bit bothering, if you started with Carrol and then followed with another character you'll feel like there's favoritism or even when doing Lentis who has more CGs than the others... All in all, like Les Fleurswords, the game has potential but that would require a lenghty reworks, still it is worth grabbing when on sales since it'll cost you pretty much nothing. I'd like to encourage the devs to hire an actual english translator and not use a machine to translate the dialogues. There's more choices but the 1st choices of the game feel so useless it might as well not exist... and the final choices is just to select your ending, which otherwise wouldn't happen smoothly.
Poor Translating really hard to read :(
Translation is so bad it's difficult to bear and the story line is very boring. Not to mention the slow character movements that take an hour to cross the screen. Not worth even how little it costs.
Just bad game, really. The art is nice though.
No, just no. The translation feels like it was put through Google translate from its native language, to English, and back to its native language. It auto plays itself from how long I could stand to play, and looking at a guide each route has about three choices to make. It's not worth it on sale for $0.59, nor is it worth $1.99. Avoid this publisher due to their lackluster translations.
It was quite boring. Except the bad translation, that it's common to all of MagicHouse games, the other two I've played (Les Fleursword and AI escort) were much more enjoyable. This one features 3 different endings/ romance routes. Since it is cheap, if you want to try it and get some easy 100% achievements, then go on.
Honestly, after reading all these reviews, I expected worse. Though the use of language is very underwhelming, I was able to understand almost everything without much struggle. Admittedly, sometimes you have to use your imagination and interpret the lines of words in your own way, since they sometimes make no sense at all, but overall the story was good and the art was amazing. The rooms were different every time and also nicely decorated. The music changed for every scene and the three romanceable characters were very different in terms of personality. The main character in the story is not your typical insecure, self-doubting little girl that can't say no and falls in love with a guy instantly, but is actually a grown up who's not afraid to
punch the prince in the guts or swing a bottle of wine at his head and knock him out for being inappropriate
. The game does have some
nudity at the end of every route
so if you're not a fan of these I'd say skip via holding down ctrl or pick another game. One thing I did find to be odd though is how they are always implying
some kind of relatedness to the main character: one character is an orphan taken in by the main character's grandfather, another literally refers to her grandfather as "grandfather" and the third one is actually her half-brother,
so be warned when starting this game,
(implied) incest
is a thing here, though brushed under the carpet as soon as it comes up. Since I went into the game with no expectations, I was not disappointed but rather positively surprised. 4/10 , if you have spare time on your hands, don't want to spend a lot of money but still get a good amount of hours out of the game and unlock some achievements, don't mind the
nudity and (implied) incest,
you might as well try this game.
