I really didn't think Crimson Memories could be worse than Les Fleursword, but I was wrong. Oh, how I was wrong. Sure, the translation is slightly better...SLIGHTLY, but it doesn't take long to devolve into the same Engrish gibberish with an even worse story and characters than its predecessor. And what's more, it's entirely contrived and boring; plot twists and elements seem to come out of left field, but are at the same time so predictable and cliche that my eyes were actually getting sore from how much rolling they'd been doing. I don't even think a cleaned up translation could salvage this wreck. It's just bad all around, and no amount of suspension of disbelief can make it palatable. So our story begins with Tyria, a young woman who is kidnapped by a mysterious thief and brought to a man named Syris, who for some inexplicable reason forces her to work as a maid in the kingdom's castle to procure some type of information from one of the royal retainers. It's all very obscure and mysterious, and doesn't make any damn sense, but that's never stopped hentai from plowing forward with a ridiculous story in order to get to the naughty bits. But I digress... Almost immediately upon reporting to the head maid, Tyria is assigned to cleaning the Prince's chambers. Of course she is. I mean, how else would the Prince get into her panties? It's not long before she discovers that the Prince is a womanizer, and it's clear the maids aren't off limits when it comes to his majesty's sexual proclivities. Shortly after meeting Tyria, Prince Lantis' latent magical ability, called Ander Dawes, manifests itself, which allows him to literally turn animals into movie projectors that shine memories through their eyes onto walls. No...I'm not misreading anything from the garbled translation, that is exactly how the power works. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1384647695 I could continue describing the stupidly ridiculous story here, but I'm already growing tired of writing about it, so let me briefly summarize the rest...
It's later discovered that Tyria is really the one with the Ander Dawes power, not Prince Lantis. How could that be? Well, her mother had an affair with the king in her youth, and had been held prisoner in the dungeon along with Tyria's step-father for the last 14 years, all because the queen was jealous, or something. I'm pretty sure that means Tyria and Prince Lantis are half-brother and sister, but that seems to get brushed aside in the story.
Anyhow, through one contrivance or another, Tyria ends up with one of the 3 romanceable guys and they screw each other's brains out. And as happens in most hentai otome, the sex is so good she immediately falls in love and they live happily ever after. Now if you're willing to suffer through all of that just to get to the three short hentai scenes (and let me reiterate, they are indeed hentai - all the uncensor patch does is remove a few pasties and a single mosaic), the translation is so bad that I don't see how anyone could take them seriously. I mean, vaginas are constantly referred to as holes, and unless you find erectile meat bars titillating, the male anatomy isn't handled much better. Love juices aside, it's all incredibly bad, and just about the only thing one might find appealing about them are the CGs. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1386466371 And for those interested in just grabbing the achievements on the cheap, don't expect the skip function to speed you through them all in less than 5 minutes. Due to it being an RPGMaker game, skipping only works as far as the text is concerned. You still need to sit through all of the excruciatingly slow character animations/movements, and there are a LOT of scenes with the MC wandering around with very little text inbetween. It's frustrating, slow, and boring. Honestly, ladies, I know some of you are desperate for R18 otome games here on Steam, but we should be demanding better than the garbage ParadiseProject keeps offering us. If you absolutely MUST see the CGs, just Google them and save yourself the two bucks for a cup of coffee or something. Your time is worth more than this. This second otome visual novel with romance, fantasy, mystery and fan service by MagicHouse and SakuraGame features an orphan girl Tyria Ellie Strand who lost her parents after a mysterious fire burned down her entire house and she was adopted by Aunt Cresta. One day, after losing her job as a waitress at an outdoor cafe, Tyria was stopped and taken blindfolded by an infamous phantom thief Henry Brad Rabaul to see Shirith, a powerful senator who offers to reveal more about Tyria's house being burnt down 14 years ago as foul play being involved in exchange for information on the palace's accounts and finances with an offer to work in the palace as a maid. With no other work at hand to be found and with Tyria being interested to know more about the circumstances regarding the fire and her parents who may still be alive, Tyria decides to accept Shirith's offer. Upon reaching the palace the following day, Tyria is introduced to her immediate supervisor and senior maid(senpai) Rozet, prince Lantis Runa Norgo and queen Jerene. The same evening, Tyria manages to copy a page from the palace's account book and encounters the owner of the account book Victor as the queen's follower. After a narrow escape, Tyria returns to sleep in her home where she and Aunt Cresta both live together but loses the vital copied page the following day. After seeing that security is increased at Victor's office and quarters, Tyria decides to return to report failure of mission to Shirith. While at Shirith's mansion, Tyria is introduced to Shirith's steward Carroll Duck Rod. Upon hearing of Tyria's failure, he offered Tyria a second mission instead to get close to the queen and try to discover her secrets. Tyria can think of Prince Lantis, Henry or Carroll, experience a nightmare and encounter one of them a few times. Much later in the game after a few supernatural occurences, drama, mystery, intrigue, thriller and tragedy, Tyria will have the option to move towards a miniature figure of Prince Lantis, Henry, Carroll or Shirith where interacting with the chosen person will start the person's route. Depending on the earlier choices made, the path leading to the person might be blocked by swirling black whirlpools or clear for Tyria to walk towards. Having played MagicHouse's earlier visual novel Les Fleursword, the game has moving RPGMaker-based scenes with cute speech balloons containing emotes, easy achievements, nice BGM and theme song with vocals in promo video(contains adult NSFW content) that can be opened by starting a new game at title screen. The game also has great artwork in game cover, title screen, sprites, CGs and promo video. The plot and character backgrounds are also improved and better-developed with a larger cast of interesting characters, although as a short visual novel attempting to add mystery and thriller to a romance visual novel with fantasy ends up leading to a few significant plot holes in the story(Eg.
Tyria would leave the copied document as a very important item she had to pass to Shirith unattended on the table right after the front door of her house before going to bed and hence losing it the next day, Aunt Cresta being killed by a hidden sniper with no mention later on who is the assassin and who or which party started the arson attempt to try to kill Tyria
). There are also many errors in the English version(The Chinese version has considerably fewer errors). The game also doesn't have a convenient menu interface that can be opened with the usual Esc key on most visual novels or RPGMaker-based games to exit game or load from a previous save during the game outside the title menu. The F5 button will enable immediate return to title menu to restart, load or exit game which is not explained anywhere in the game. Reading through the storyline, dialogue, watching all actions unfold and unlocking all CGs and achievements will take less than 10 hours. Recommended when at discount or bundle offer for fans of SakuraGame who might be interested in collecting the titles by SakuraGame as a short visual novel with great artwork, nice BGM, theme song with vocals and can read Chinese or doesn't mind reading through a visual novel with many errors in the English version. I am also writing this recommended review to ask for this visual novel to qualify for Steam trading cards in future and because the developer added an occasional bunny girl among the bystanders in a few scenes. く__,.ヘヽ. / ,ー、 〉 \ ', !-─‐-i / /´ /`ー' L//`ヽ、 / /, /| , , ', イ / /-‐/ i L_ ハ ヽ! i レ ヘ 7イ`ト レ'ァ-ト、!ハ| | !,/7 '0' ´0iソ| | |.从" _ ,,,, / |./ | レ'| i>.、,,__ _,.イ / .i | レ'| | / k_7_/レ'ヽ, ハ. | | |/i 〈|/ i ,.ヘ | i | .|/ / i: ヘ! \ | kヽ>、ハ _,.ヘ、 /、! !'〈//`T´', \ `'7'ーr' レ'ヽL__|___i,___,ンレ|ノ ト-,/ |___./ 'ー' !_,.:

Well, here we go. Pros: - It's colorful - It's cheap - Art is good Cons: - You'll be able to understand it, but don't expect good english and expect pronouns to never be consistent. - Skipping not NEARLY fast enough. Seriously. It's slow. Bring a book. - You get to control the character only ONCE and its only to walk like a few squares. I feel like this should rather be a visual novel in Renpy rather than an RPGMaker - Carol DUCK ROD This game is good to play if you're an otoge fan and really bored, because the price is really just a drop in the bucket and the length is fairly long. Just don't come in with any high expectations. Better yet don't come with any expectations and just roll with it and lol sometimes at the Engrish.
Well... I played it. To its completion. And I will never be playing it again. -sigh- I basically just used it for the acheivements since I have no idea what actually happened in the story due to its HORRIBLE translation. Or maybe its bad story writing? Maybe the translation wasn't even at fault and my questions were just never answered, who knows. :/
I'm afraid I cannot recommand this game. The translation is terrible and either makes no sense or is hard to understand. The plot points feel a little cliche which could have been forgiven if the plot actually got finished. In two of the stories the main plotwist just get forgotten and never mentioned again. Yes, they are side stories but
her royal bloodline, being the king's daughter and her powers
are either glossed over or never mentioned again. Even in the main story details about the prince are left out which would have made the plot a bit stronger. Other stuff worth mentioning: Only 4 dialogue choices (it's a short game, most the time is spend on automatic movement in the rooms) Art his nice but doesn't hold up against the bad translation and lackluster plot. Overall the game just feels like an bit of an excuse to draw Eroge scenes at the end of a story.
I really like those games with the old school rpg look! however the translation is really bad (sometimes you don't understand what was wanted to be said) On the parts where the translation is OK, I find it really good. I had to start over a few times, which was pretty annoying since you can not skip to your next decision (maybe I just didn't find the option because there was no explanation for where to find it.), rather just have "fast" forward which for me was pretty slow (because of the loading screens) if you have to play it all over again. But I like the characters who can be chosen pretty much :)!
I bought this game because I saw that the reviews were mostly positive and well... I was fooled. I don't normally like to give out any bad reviews, but even if I got this game on sale, I still want my money back. :( GAMEPLAY If you think from the screenshots that you can walk around as it's in RPGmaker, you're wrong. It really is just a visual novel and the most you do is pick choices. It also takes you a while to read through everything and there's no skip option so replaying is a bit of a hassle. I tested the flowchart of how the choices worked (aka get cutscenes with every character, or focus on two characters only) and ended up with a game over, so it's more linear. I then decided to pick one character. STORY Since the game is story heavy at the start, I really expected a richer story, but after the supposedly important part of the story happens, your character (who is initially questioning her feelings) suddenly decides she likes him, and quickly justifies it is love. They then proceed to the sexual content part of the story that honestly did nothing to forward the plot other than make the guy just ask for her hand in marriage then end the game. It wasn't pleasurable, if that's what matters most regarding that part. (Although I did not expect it to be as graphic) The story is rushed to finish or I suppose rushed to get to the sexual part. If the game is a casual one, the story should really be minimized and not given such a big start. The expectation shifts to reading something worthwhile when it definitely is not. Some main plot twists are noteworthy and they developed the main character enough to get the player to like her, only to have it ironically end with what felt like shallow love/sex despite claiming its deeper than it actually is. WRITING/TEXT As everyone else is saying, the translation is really bad. I let it slide initially even if it was difficult to understand what specific characters actually meant to say. Not only that, but since this is a visual novel coupled with the sprites moving around and showing emotion (Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley-esque kind of way), there are a lot of things that need not be said since we have the characters acting it out already. ART/UI On the plus side, the art is nice, and the way they positioned the sprites to appear as they speak felt a little more cinematic than most otomes. You can't save anytime you want however, or even pause the game. You can really only wait for the "checkpoint/save point" after seeing a couple of scenes. --- I'm just really disappointed. Prior to this, I played a free game complete with good art, a great story/UI/storytelling, a flow that gave more variety, good character development, moral, etc etc and to play this afterward just really made me feel down. Not to somber the company and I'm not claiming that this game should have been free, I just believe they should have discussed the plans for the game further and better delegated what they should have prioritized. But, I look forward to other games you'll make. Thanks for your time.
muy bno final inesperado
