Still boring and disjointed after 20 hours.
The graphics are quite pretty but I really didn't like how the character control handles. It feels like RDR2 where you really commit yourself to going in a direction. Combat was okay, but after the long (!) walk into town you're left there with no action. I picked up a quest to go cut trees and when I got to the forest I couldn't work out how to equip my axe. It was active in my character slot in inventory but nothing I pressed seemed to equip it. Searching the web found a bunch of controller help. I uninstalled and refunded - I just don't have the time to commit to this sort of game, it's slow, and my character is cumbersome to control.
Honest to god I live in fear of this being the future of gaming. This encompasses everything I hate about media in general. Uninspired, a little bit of this, a little of that ahh game. There is good in hear somewhere. Made by people on this dev team that actually had good ideas, but all of its corners are tied together with a poorly written ChatGPT AI prompt, put out by upper management to maximize revenue. CD was made to blanket cover ideas, to check boxes, its here to make money rather than to excel in any one field. The worst part of this game is that people care so much about content and lots of hours translating into a good game that they eat this up, they are so far gone that they'd put it side by side to open world RPG greats like Cyberpunk, BOTW, Skyrim, Witcher, Kingdom Come, and RDR2, because they think hours translates to quality. Dead internet theory is real. I have to believe that all of you aren't real, or play with your eyes and ears closed. You don't care about pushing limits, telling stories, you don't care about your time, the art worth creating, or even just a fun and unique game. I even respect the ball and gun community more than this because at least they know what they are, they like what they like, and they don't try to be something they aren't. Go doom scroll on your little phone, and keep away your desire to distract yourself with uninspired art from my space of media.
Sixty hours in, do not buy or play this game. Crimson Desert is a massive and exciting open world, where absolutely nothing makes sense and nothing is explained to you. Key game mechanics are outright never explained, leaving you to google literally every step of the game because everything is unnecessarily convoluted and complex. Believe me, I love MMOs and open world games, but this is complete and utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The combat is about the only enjoyable part of this game, except when you're in a boss because then it just turns into 20 minutes of being stun locked by a mechanic that doesn't make sense. I have never had to search up so many guides for a game before and it is honestly infuriating. I don't like using Youtube videos to finish the game, but it is almost required because of how little is explained to you. Not worth full price, wait for a sale.
boring as ♥♥♥♥, missions are repetitive. story is mid. the opening missions dont make sense. ubisoft-style game. glad i refunded this game and pirated it instead
I am so bored. I don't really know what is going on, or care to know. I don't understand the factions nor do they seem to matter. The combat is insanely easy but at the same time clunky. The building is blah. The dialog is bizarre. I am trying so hard to like it but there is nothing keeping me playing. I lost money on this one for sure. It reminds me of Net Ease's Once Human. Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks sort of play. However, Once Human was actually fun. Nothing is fun in Crimson Desert. I actually groaned when one of my greymanes asked me to go do some stupid quest for them.
优化太差了,更新了这么多次就是不改改这些问题 不知道在想什么
I'm a bit sad to make this review negative, but I cannot recommend it in good faith with its current ailments. I'd wait for now, but be on a look out. In a way, this is not alike any other game I played. The high points are very impressive. But at the same time It is mind bogglingly fascinating how idiotic and incompetent it can get during its low points. While you can get used to the obtuse control scheme, the combat which is the bread and butter of the game just ends up being tragic, at minimum the ranged section just needs scrapping and a complete overhaul. The lack of precision and heavy emphasis on a controller friendly interface makes you fight the layout more than the games various npc's. There is also very little restraint practiced by the developers, combat is very flashy yes.. but not every single grunt kill needs a slow motion finisher accompanied with a deafening thud and a lightshow. Not to mention even the main quests sometimes feel like they were written and designed for some long gone defunct MMO with minimum effort back in 2005. With a dialogue tree straight out of a nightmare and a constant indecisiveness whether the main protagonist is supposed to be talking or to be silent. Instead throwing 50 different features at the wall hoping some will stick the people in charge need some time for their game to mature and realize they are not making an MMO anymore. But there is also a big potential, as there was already a surprisingly fast steady supply of patches and various quality of life improvements. With the team being fast on their feet and seemingly listening to various gripes their community had for the game so far.
Ai slop game. Terrible generated story, terrible combat, generated enemies. Stay away
