This game is an 8/10. Solid, addictive and with a great story. There are a few things I'd change, like an overview of each pirate camp's usage but otherwise this is a very very good game. Graphically it looks brilliant and I like the mini games that happen once you venture off the island. It runs smoothly and in 50 hours I've had 0 crashes. I hope there's dlc to come, I'll be waiting for it.
Fantastic game -- probably my favorite strategy game in years. It's a mix of Sid Meier's Pirates, with Tropico, and even a little Civilization (the good bits). The dice combat is probably the weakest part of the experience, but when you get the hang of it, it's not so bad and can even be a little fun (sort of like gambling, ha). The exploration, characters, base building are all top notch. There's always something fun to explore and with the ship excursions, you get a little of that "one more turn" impulse that makes it feel a little addictive. The music, art, and atmosphere are all spot on. The brightness and interesting use of color and characters is very fun and interesting. The amount of time you'll spend in this game makes the price a great value. Overall, I highly recommend this game if you love strategy game with small arcadey elements.
A GREAT CITY BUILDER (ROCK DWELLER) WITH A PIRATE PROBLEM I came for the pirates: ships, cannons, plundering, chaos. Instead, I became the Senior Vice President of Pirate Logistics. The city building (rock dweller building) is genuinely fun, especially the vertical construction and production chains. Watching your tiny settlement grow into a massive pirate city (rock dweller city) is surprisingly addictive. The naval combat, however, feels like the developers remembered at the last minute that this was supposed to be a pirate game. I wanted epic naval battles. I got Pirate Excel Simulator with cards and dice. 👍 Pros Fun and addictive city building Beautiful pirate aesthetic Vertical construction is great Satisfying production chains Lots of things to manage (lot of logistic actually) 👎 Cons Logistics can be a nightmare Production chains can become unnecessarily fiddly Transport routes sometimes feel more complicated than they need to be Naval combat gets repetitive Pirate gameplay feels secondary to city management 8/10 Great city builder (rock dweller builder). Decent pirate game. Excellent warehouse simulator. 🏴☠️
awesome game with lost of building stuff love it :-)
I am addicted. Great game. Unfortunately FPS degrades over time with more buildings built. Started with 70+ FPS on an empty island, now I have a ton of buildings and am at 50+ FPS. But that's kinda expected I guess.
