sry for u havnt cn.
i gave it a try after reading ALL reviews (including the positive ones) and since i love the other games from the devs. So.... what can i say? this is horrible. I dont get it. Its like Guitar heroes but worse. Even if you know that this has nothing to do with the good old Cook Serve Delicious Games its still a BIIIIIIIIIIG disappointment. Looking at the very bottom of the screen pressing unflowy combinations of 4 buttons all the time. as i said: guitar hero in much worse. thats what it is. sorry.
**tl;dr: If you're a fan of the fast-paced CSD franchise titles, look elsewhere -- that's not this game. However, if you enjoy more casual gaming experiences or want a CSD-like game with a storytelling emphasis, this could be a great game for you when on sale. And if you're new to the CSD franchise, it could be a nice introduction (though I'd still personally suggest CSD3).** This game is ABSOLUTELY NOT worth $30 and should not be purchased at full price. With a play time of 12.8 hours to 100% the game (including all side-quest type content), it's a much smaller game than other titles in the series and has fairly different mechanics. This game operates more like a visual novel and is easy compared to the rest of the CSD series. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush sort of game, this isn't the right pick for you (try CSD3 instead -- it's a better game overall and I really loved it). You'll spend pretty much as much time in cutscenes, animations, and objectives without goals as actually cooking in this game. While there are downsides for a CSD fan, if you can get it for $5-10 bucks, it's a cute little game with a far more significant storyline than other games in the series. Unfortunately, I never really enjoyed story aspects of CSD titles so I consider this to be a downside of the game. It has an extremely slow start compared to other CSD games, but gets much better once you get through the first few hours. I especially enjoyed the Cooking School mode (which removes most of the dialogue and requires 100% accuracy for a full score, much more like the original CSD titles). I also generally liked the final portions of the story and ending, even if it took a while to get there. Overall, while this wasn't the most incredible game I've played, I'd give it a shot if you can find a reasonable price for it (I'd personally value it at $5, but it could be worth $10-15 if you enjoy story games). I'd also strongly recommend playing to the end. Note: There is one bug in two of the cooking tasks (whisk and salt/pepper) that occasionally causes the task to freeze after one hit on the second+ phase, and requires you to reset the level. It's not very disruptive but definitely detracts from the game experience; I probably encountered it 5-10 times total when playing a 100% run.
The most artistically ambitious game in the Cook Serve Delicious series, served with mouth-watering visuals, an amazing soundtrack, and a heartwarming story. Suitable for casual players and hardcore players who want to max out everything. As someone who was playing mostly for the plot, the gameplay can feel repetitive and tedious while progressing through the story. While I get the spirit of the ending, it still felt a bit anticlimactic. Overall I still enjoyed my time playing and learning more about the CSD universe. I hope to see these characters again in future installments. Tranquillitas!
A pretty perfect game! Sweet characters, beautiful scenery, and the best music. Honestly. I want the soundtrack playing all the time. The food all looks scrumptious, and the food names are often pretty funny. I suck at the Blitz levels, but that doesn't keep me from continuing the storyline. Also love that Brie and Nori are a queer asexual couple. Perfection!
