A silent hill inspired game that caused great fear in me even though much was left to the imagination with a set up to a sequel that i am excited to play 6.5/10

3.4 This is definitely an early if not beginner's project and you can tell. But even still it's super well put together for what it was going for. Things like the key's having their interaction box also have the texture on the sides but super squished. Some of the doors and walls not being connected correctly or off angles. Some of the 'bodies' you see just being little things made out of oblong shapes. All that being said it does really well to setup it's atmosphere, very deeply inspired by Silent Hill, there is an uncanny feeling throughout especially when all of the ingame cutscenes are FMV meaning they are of a certain higher quality compared to the rest. It really creates an uncanny feeling when they do show up, albeit the difference is quite major so some of the scarier stuff then comes off quite simple. I have some other issues with certain aspects but I will leave out for spoil reasons. Some of the puzzles or just things to do at least in the beginning are a bit obtuse. I had quit the game in the hospital and completely forgot about a random bin with a rat that I had to then go on my next play so I wandered around aimless for a bit. The game does end quite abruptly but sets up a fair bit for it's sequel. Even having an optional area that pays homage to Myst of all things. I am somewhat interested in seeing the sequel and where it does go.
If you like the visuals in the trailer, give it a shot. There are few special moments in here, but they exist. This is mostly just a walking simulator with some very meh puzzles. There is very noticeable, probably intentional input lag when moving, which sucks. There are many sudden, often random cutscenes that are unskippable, which sucks. 100%ing this game requires 3 playthroughs that play out almost the exact same, which doesn't take too long, but sucks.

I think my playtime could have been lower if the game's puzzles and riddles actually made sense sometimes and don't leave me completely bored out of my mind while I slog through the whole game in a snails pace for some reason. But at least it's free, so if you want to give it a try then do so... just know that this game is painfully annoying most of the time, and the story is nonsensical and looks and sounds like a silent hill rip off but crappy.
its a challenging game an it seemed so simple at first but no it makes you THINK .
