About
Now Free to Play! Code ZIN: Esper Arena is an anime-style third-person arena shooter.
The Esper Arena is the ultimate vSport: a competitive battleground built for high-mobility duels, tight teamwork, and limitless skill expression.
Players, known as Espers, enter matches with customizable Combat Modules that shape their weapons and abilities. Every round tests your reflexes, strategy, and adaptability.
Please note: During Early Access, matchmaking may not always be immediate. This will improve significantly toward Full Release. For now, join our community on Discord to find matches and share feedback as we shape Code ZIN together.
Succeed and become immortalized or fail and be forgotten. This is your chance for glory!

In fast-paced PvP matches, teams face off in compact arenas where every second counts. Objectives vary by game mode, but success always depends on how quickly you adapt to the flow of combat.
Players can equip three weapons and one ability from a wide selection, allowing them to craft a loadout that fits their preferred playstyle. Whether you favour precision, burst damage, or crowd control, your choices define how you approach each fight.
Movement is a core part of the experience. Espers have access to dodge, evasion, and other advanced techniques, enabling rapid repositioning and aggressive momentum. Combined with your chosen weapons and abilities, these mobility options create an endless range of tactical possibilities and responses to any situation.

Fast-paced, high-mobility PvP combat designed for quick, intense matches
Three-weapon loadouts with a growing arsenal of weapons and weapon skins
Unique Esper abilities that let you shape your combat style
Extensive character customization with cosmetics and personalization options in the future
Deathmatch and Touchdown modes, with additional mode in development
Mode-specific maps built for tight encounters and strategic positioning

Customization is a core part of Code ZIN. The game is built to support individuality, both in how you fight and how you present yourself in the Arena.
As an Esper, you define your identity through character and clothing customization, and shape your combat approach with personalized loadouts built around your preferred playstyle. Every Esper enters the Arena with a look and strategy that is uniquely their own.
Set within a cyber-themed virtual world, the game features handcrafted maps and evolving modes that showcase your style and choices. Whether through visuals or gameplay decisions, Code ZIN gives you the tools to express yourself every step of the way.

The identity you build is closely tied to the NetSphere itself. The Zenith Intelligence Network, known as ZIN, was created as an attempt to form a self sustaining intelligence that learns from the actions and decisions of its users.
By the year 2053, humanity has begun to transition into virtual spaces. Without realizing it, players contribute to the rise of true artificial intelligence as the world approaches the technological singularity.

As a former S4League Player, I felt like checking back on this page again and I saw this went from $10 to FREE (since Nov. 5th 2025) I tried playing right after downloading it. I was the only player online...I was only able to play Touchdown mode with bots. Here are some pain points I felt: - Swordplay doesn't feel very impactful. It feels like I'm swinging at bots with the damage of a wet paper towel. All weapons have a ammo system--including melees (why?). IMO I think this is a TERRIBLE design choice but I get that you're trying something new here. "high-mobility duels" "limitless skill expression" You put limited 2-stock ammo on a sword. - Gunplay feels slow and also janky. I noticed that there's recoil/bullet spread when holding down the trigger. I thought why not just single tap fire? Nah. Automatic guns like Scorpio & Scarab WILL ONLY FIRE PROPERLY if you hold down left click. If you try tap firing (Spam left click) you get a janky animation that works at like HALF THE PROPER RPM. ON TOP OF THAT, the crosshair expands greatly even though you input 10 left clicks for 3 shots - My two gripes above are probably because of the animation-locking when you attack. - Map Design is overall blocky & geometric. It doesn't feel fun to run & jump around. (Think about the excitement a kid would feel if they were to attempt a "Ninja Parkour Course") - Walljumps feel slow. The amount of time you stick to a wall to then how fast/far you launch off the wall--you probably would have more distance just holding sprint. - The TUTORIAL only teaches you how to JUMP, DODGE, WALLJUMP, and then CHAIN WALLJUMP. It does not teach SPRINTING or SLIDING. - There is no explanation or tooltips for weapons & abilities - Lastly, DEAD GAME. I like to chuckle at the past reviews that go "WASTED MY MONEY TO PLAY ALONE LOL" It was a terrible choice to slap $10 on a pre-alpha PvP game. It should have been free to begin with. The only good selling point that brought me here in the first place is because I heard the G.O.A.T PLANETBOOM covered the music.
The game looks great, even though I haven't had a chance to play a match yet. However, I went into practice mode to check out the game mechanics, and they don't feel as fluid as in similar games; they feel more clunky. Everything feels very raw. For example, the wall jump animations in the game look very funny, or why is it so difficult to run after a wall jump + dodge combo? The jump-run-jump-run logic that works so well in S4L is missing here. When I try to do it, I have to press W hard, which I think detracts from the fluidity. The game's core structure is more like GunZ:2 than S4L. I'm referring to its mobility. In short, there's still a long way to go, but I'll give the game positive feedback. Because I genuinely want this game to be very successful. I will provide a more comprehensive opinion once I have experienced the game in greater detail, but for now, these are my observations.
I'm not sure about the future of this game since this genre doesn’t usually get much love, even S4L failed. But I do really hope it succeeds. Godspeed, Giiku Games <3
