About

CODE::LUX is a short, multi-ending, post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure.
Through a visual novel and a roguelite-inspired choice-driven adventure, witness the conclusion of two travelers’ journey.
In a future where commercial nuclear fusion reactors have become reality.
But after a world war destroyed and shut them all down, civilization collapsed.
A society without electricity proved far more fragile than anyone had imagined. Now, humanity barely clings to life, relying on small-scale renewable power plants scattered across the land and irreproducible lost technologies known as “Relics.”
And yet, no one has been able to restart the dormant fusion reactors.
To initiate a fusion reaction, fuel must be heated to over 100 million degrees, turned into plasma, and confined under extreme pressure. This process requires an enormous amount of initial energy—so much that it is almost like needing a power plant just to start another power plant.
Humanity no longer has any means of producing that energy.
—Except for one girl named Mitsuha.
Mitsuha
A mysterious girl who seeks to bring the light of civilization back to the world.
Although she appears young, she possesses extraordinary knowledge, including a wide range of academic fields that have largely been lost in the present age. At the same time, she often shows a strange lack of common sense, revealing an oddly unbalanced side to her personality.
She holds administrator-level authority over every government-run system of the former nation. By restarting the secret “last nuclear reactor,” forbidden by international treaty, she intends to set the lost civilization in motion once again.
Kai
A scavenger who survives by roaming the ruins and collecting Relics.
He encounters Mitsuha in a certain city and recognizes the value of her abilities.
Although he has little interest in her noble goal, he chooses to cooperate with her as a means of obtaining Relics.
A man who never speaks of his past—practical, cold, and ruthless, yet with glimpses of something undeniably human.
It seems there is a past he would rather forget...
