Lack of (quality) control(s)
Those cute christmas graphics are the only thing to play this unfair designed platformer. In every other point it sucks. 1. You get stuck on disappearing iceblocks https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2113656409 2. The game has bugs like invisible platforms, unmarked dangers and elements don't act as they did a level before https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2113656967 3. The platform movement is too fast compared to you jump speed. So you will loose jump momentum and perform faulty jumps just because it's not fairly designed. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2113665144 4. The soundtrack is an annoying infinite loop of stressy music 5. Achievement pictures are all broken
The initials of this game actually stand for ♥♥♥♥ and Scrotum Torture which is what it feels like to play this garbage Unity kiddo project. I don't even know why I got this, I thought it was at least a "so bad it's so good" kind of game but no, it's just utter trash.
Christmas Santa Troubles is a simplistic 2D retro platformer. Collect the christmas present bags and then run through the Igloo. The most confusing part about this game is that it plays almost exactly like the Construct 2 platformer asset flip, but it's made in Unity. On the plus side the game does display properly in UHD and the controls work. On the downside the gameplay is awful, controls are way too floaty and slow. It's not at all fun to play.
The game is solely for fans of Super Mario bros. I don't but someone may likes platformers.
Christmas Santa Troubles is a holiday-themed platforming adventure that focuses on simple gameplay, colorful seasonal presentation, and a festive atmosphere inspired by classic arcade experiences. Released in 2018, the game places players in a Christmas setting where the objective is to recover lost presents and save the holiday from disaster. Rather than attempting to compete with large-scale platformers through complex mechanics or ambitious storytelling, it embraces a straightforward design philosophy centered on collectible gathering, obstacle avoidance, and accessible entertainment. The result is a casual seasonal adventure that aims to capture the spirit of Christmas through lighthearted gameplay and cheerful visual design. The story revolves around a familiar holiday scenario. Santa Claus is preparing to deliver gifts to children around the world when disaster strikes. The Grinch sabotages Santa's sleigh, causing him to crash at the North Pole and scatter presents across dangerous snowy environments. With Christmas now under threat, the protagonist embarks on a mission to recover the lost gifts and restore the holiday before it is ruined. The narrative remains intentionally simple and functions mainly as a reason to travel through the game's winter-themed levels. While the story does not contain major surprises or character development, it successfully establishes a festive objective that fits the game's overall tone. Gameplay is built around traditional platforming mechanics. Players move through snowy stages collecting presents and sweets while avoiding hazards that can quickly end progress. Precision jumping and careful timing are essential, as levels are filled with spikes, spinning saws, icicles, and dangerous gaps that require constant attention. The controls are intentionally uncomplicated, making it easy for players of all skill levels to understand the core mechanics almost immediately. This accessibility helps the game appeal to casual audiences and younger players who may be looking for a straightforward holiday-themed experience. Collecting items serves as the primary progression system. Gifts and sweets are scattered throughout each level, encouraging players to thoroughly explore their surroundings instead of simply rushing toward the finish line. Recovering every present becomes the central objective, creating a gameplay loop that revolves around observation, navigation, and completion. Players who enjoy collectible-focused platformers may appreciate the satisfaction that comes from clearing levels and ensuring that no rewards have been left behind. One of the game's most noticeable strengths is its Christmas atmosphere. Snow-covered landscapes, holiday decorations, gift boxes, and winter-inspired environments consistently reinforce the seasonal theme. The developers clearly designed the game as a celebration of Christmas rather than a generic platformer with a holiday skin. The bright visuals and festive presentation help create an inviting mood that remains present throughout the adventure. For players who enjoy seasonal games, this dedication to the Christmas theme gives the experience a unique identity. The visual style favors colorful simplicity over technical complexity. Character models, environments, and decorative elements are designed to be easy to recognize and visually cheerful. While the graphics do not aim for realism or advanced effects, they effectively support the game's festive atmosphere. Snowy backgrounds and holiday-themed details create environments that feel appropriate for the story and help immerse players in the Christmas setting. The soundtrack complements the presentation with lighthearted music that reinforces the cheerful mood. Seasonal melodies and arcade-inspired audio effects provide energy without becoming distracting. Sound cues help communicate player actions and hazards while maintaining the playful tone of the experience. The audio design remains simple but effective, contributing to the overall sense of holiday adventure. Another positive aspect of Christmas Santa Troubles is its approachable structure. The game does not overwhelm players with complicated progression systems, upgrade trees, or difficult mechanics. Instead, it focuses entirely on delivering short platforming challenges that can be enjoyed in brief sessions. This makes it particularly suitable for players seeking a casual game during the holiday season or those looking for a relaxing experience without major time commitments. The level design places heavy emphasis on environmental hazards. Saws, spikes, falling icicles, and bottomless pits serve as the primary obstacles throughout the adventure. Success depends on recognizing danger and reacting carefully while navigating the stages. Although the hazards themselves are relatively straightforward, they provide enough challenge to keep players engaged and prevent progression from becoming completely effortless. However, the game's simplicity can also limit its appeal. Players searching for advanced platforming mechanics, intricate level design, or deep gameplay systems may find the experience repetitive over time. The core gameplay loop changes very little throughout the adventure, and the limited variety of objectives can make later stages feel familiar. The production values also reflect the game's modest scope, particularly when compared to larger platforming releases with more ambitious features. The overall experience feels designed primarily for accessibility and seasonal entertainment rather than long-term engagement. Its strengths lie in its festive atmosphere, collectible-focused gameplay, and approachable mechanics rather than innovation. While it does not attempt to reinvent the platforming genre, it remains committed to delivering a simple Christmas-themed adventure that players can enjoy without needing to invest significant time learning complex systems. Christmas Santa Troubles succeeds as a lighthearted holiday platformer that prioritizes seasonal charm over mechanical depth. Its snowy environments, collectible-driven progression, accessible controls, and cheerful presentation create an experience that captures the spirit of Christmas in a playful way. Although its repetitive structure and limited complexity prevent it from standing alongside more ambitious platformers, it still offers enough festive personality to entertain players looking for a casual holiday adventure. this game is driving you mad! the community had to wait almost 2 years for a level bugfix. no death achievement is quite impossible to get because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ "hitboxes" of ice blocks! it's all about luck to be able to jump from them properly. just a joke. -.-
A man that large can't jump that high. And the game confirms this.
Aimlessly wandering around, taking random items away from the residents, and looking like a baffoon. I wonder if this game was supposed to be about Ron DeSantis and not Santa? This game needs put on a flight to the pits of hell and tossed into the lake of fire.
