Downgrade Been playing for years. Loved the stories. Freshman series. Queen B. The crown and the flame. Very good books. Now the new book quality has been getting worse. What used to be max 16 chapters a book is now 6 chapters. I dislike how small the chapters are. How expensive the choices are. And lack of characters?? What happened to multiple Love Interests?? I think it’s not long before I cancel my membership

Massively Disappointed I have played this app since launch. I have been a huge fan of it for YEARS and yes, there have always been run of the mill stories with lazy writing and annoying characters, but the thing that has made the app so much fun for me is the fact that they were REAL stories written by REAL people, the same people who wrote High School Story when I played it in middle school. I have always been a Pixelberry fan and I have always thought that this app was the superior interactive visual novel game. I haven’t read any of the new stories because honestly? None of them have interested me. So I wasn’t aware that this app was using AI in its writing and art. Still, the old stories don’t have that problem and I’m happy to engage with those, or at least I was. Partnering with an AI movie company to bring back two of the most beloved series on this app (one of which was canceled prematurely) is my last straw. I’m so deeply saddened by this. This was my comfort app. This was a huge part of my childhood and now it has been tainted.

A Heartbreak I have been playing this game since I started college in 2017, and the past few years the app has become butchered. So many stories on here have really meant a lot to me, thats the only reason the app is still on my phone, to revisit what used to be but its hard to see what its become. Almost every story has these ai avatars that turn into a new person every time they change expression in this horrific to watch morphing. I used to admite the backgrounds for several minutes when theres a new one or I see an old favorite, but now I regularly cringe at the slop they put behind the text now. I loved the Crimes Of Passion series but I havent finished the latest release because a lot of it is unpleasent to look at. My favorite was the It Lives Anthology for the art, the details, the clear heart that went into it and when I saw the new ai video story for it I havent been able yo really open or look at the app for months. Like putting aside any moral qualms about ai, its terrible quality. No more new art, these bizarre shiny animations, the awkward flat soulless voice. It was heartbreaking to see one of my favorite stories, one that has had such a deep impact on my own creative indeavors be turned into this terrible stilted lifeless slop. Honestly its been one hell of a decade but I think its time I put my love for this game aside since there is no sign of it ever getting better again.

Downfall It’s really unfortunate that this app has gone down hill. Starting stories then completely trashing the project because of layoffs is ridiculous. Using AI instead of original creators that built up your app is disappointing. As I’ve gone through recent reviews I have seen the same things. Decline in quality, increase in quantity, and decline in acknowledgement to the issues with their app. The copy and paste responses to negative reviews is also how you lose participants. We are looking for progress and to see that our concerns are being heard. This is just like the downfall of Lovestruck.

App will not load, despite trying everything. Ever since the most recent update, I cannot open the app. The loading screen is stuck in buffering mode, and I’ve tried everything to fix it. I love this app, but would really appreciate if the PB team could fix this ASAP because a ton of us haven’t been able to play for weeks.

Cliffhangers I have been a loyal user of the Choices app since it started in 2016. I have read and enjoyed so many great books on this app. I know there are people who complain about the changes, but honestly, I don’t mind them. It doesn’t bother me that the art styles have changed, or that we are getting smaller books instead of the usual 16 chapter books. What does frustrate me is the fact that TWO DIFFERENT BOOKS have now ended in a cliffhanger with no indication that we will get any closure to those stories. First Scream for Me and now Breaking Ice. It honestly makes me not want to read any new books that y’all put out in the future because what confidence do I have that they will have endings that actually complete the story. Why would I spend money on diamonds for those books?

This is BAD now No one likes the AI and clear cash grabbing. It’s becoming increasingly hard to get diamonds because the 100 ads have been dropped to 10 ads a day, you only get the 15 diamonds for the first time you complete a story instead of every time you complete it now, there’s been no events to get diamonds (at least the last couple months I played for), no free passes to read a story without keys, it’s all obvious cash grabbing and manipulating people to pay money for diamonds and keys. I, and most others i talk to about choices, don’t enjoy playing new stories because it’s such a chore to play when spending 15-30 diamonds multiple times a chapter to barely get any back ever. The AI sprites are ugly as well, and everywhere I look, people are complaining about them. It’s lazy and makes the quality of the game so much worse.

AI Slop 🤢 I really enjoyed this game when I was younger but it’s turned into a site full of AI. The game used to be owned by *human* writers and artists who filled their stories with love and care. Desire and Decorum is a great example of that; witty jokes, gorgeous wardrobes, and a cast of romanceables anyone could find a favorite in. However, the new company is lazy and uses AI on each new book and it’s hard to get away from. I really miss the old company.

Layoffs + AI Slop I’ve played Choices since 2018, but ever since it was bought by the AI company Series Entertainment, it’s taken a nosedive. Now they have laid off most of their human writers and replaced it with AI slop. Shameful.
