This is still a really good game even after all this time. As a big fan of Chivalry 1 and Mordhau I can absolutely recommend it. It's probably the best game of this kind currently and the playerbase is still quite alive. (And theres crossplay, which is a positive thing for this game) One of the best things about it for me is how quick and easy it is to get into a match since finding a game takes very little time, and the whole experience is fast paced, in a minute or so you're already playing, and even the end screens are quick. The combat is a lot of fun and has quite a few mechanics. It's very different from Mordhau but it still feels unique and satisfying in its own way and you can see they thought about how it would play on a controller. I also think the combat was designed particularly well around the huge battles where there are many players fighting in the same area, rather than focusing entirely on 1v1 combat which is what i feel morthau focused on. It feels more accessible than Mordhau but at the same time fights still feel fair. The combat system allows you to win situations where you're completely outnumbered if you know what you're doing. There's a good amount of depth without the game feeling unnecessarily complicated and you barely ever encounter cheesy combat tactics like you could find in chivalry 1. Sometimes the game can be really funny too if you're just playing for fun but If you're highly competitive it can definitely get stressful, but most of the time it's just a really good time. My biggest disappointment is that they never added optional localized VOIP. Being able to hear nearby enemies and teammates would have made some of the chaotic battles way better like in holdfast for example. Overall, if you enjoy Chivalry 1 or Mordhau or this type of melee combat in general I'd definitely recommend giving getting Chivalry 2, especially if its on sale. It's still very much alive and is one of the best games in the genre and a great option to quickly play something.

After a hard day's work, it's fun charging into battle during a time when men (and women) killed each other in hand to hand combat. 1019 hours in and still hasn't gotten old.
