I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I expected just another cheap one-off HOP game (it's usually the games in a series that tend to have better graphics, plots, puzzles, etc) but I really enjoyed this one. The plot was not entirely original but what is these days and it had enough of a uniqueness to be engaging. I liked the card and monster cutscenes, they were nice and short but they added a lot to the story and kept your attention so didn't get bored with just moving from one scene to another like some games. I'm a sucker when it comes to collectibles and want to get them all, so I of course enjoyed finding all the morphing animals. The one thing I did not enjoy was the voice actors, especially the organ grinder. The accent just really put me off and the poetry, if you can call it that, on the cards was terrible! I realize this is a cheap HOP game and not a work of literature, but someone could have put a little more effort into the wording and rhyme scheme of those cards. Don't let that throw you, though, I definitely recommend this game wholeheartedly!

I played this game for 6 hrs, but if it had been going at regular speed I would have finished in 3. I don't know why, but it was like wading through mud playing this game. I understood that I had to reset my monitor to 1080p, but there was no reason for it to be going so slow. Only the engaging story kept me going. The artwork was beautiful, the voice acting was nice - though the baddie sounded more like a pirate than his backstory would suggest. If someone could suggest a way to speed it up to normal (waiting for the animations was excruciating), I'd be willing to change my recommendation! However as it is... It was very disappointing.

Yes, this may be a short game but it was thoroughly entertaining! A fair bit of running around between scenes but the map was straightforward and quickly helped to make decisions as to where to go next, providing little hints as to what you need to be doing in that area too. The bonus game followed on from the main game and was as equally good, much dodging between scenes there too, but in a fun way! I love the Chimera games, I now have them all in my library, with two left to play, excellent value in the bundle.

Get ready to grind some organs. I went into this thinking some dude was throwing organs into a meat grinder, but apparently that was the wrong kind of organ. I had a good time with this game, lots of cutscenes and fun voice acting. The story was interesting with lots of cursed cards and mythical/horror creatures along the way. I wasn't a big fan of the puzzles but there wasn't very many and the rest of the gameplay made up for it. The title screen has the main character sing an almost 3 minute long song, good stuff.
