Do you like chess? Do you like variant chess with upgradeable pieces? Pieces that improve so you can contend against an ever stronger and stranger opponent in a contest to see who can push the score to favor them the fastest? If yes, then this is absolutely the game for you. It's a fun roguelite style romp through random positions, game modes, and enemies, some of which start you in a very bad spot. Now, onto the bad. The AI is cluuuuunky. Currently the game is unplayable for me, because the game takes minutes to process each AI turn. Crashing intermittently. I reached about halfway through a campaign, and now it's just dead in the water. It's a shame too, after figuring out the gameplay, I was so excited to love this game. Fingers crossed it gets fixed, and when it does, I hope the devs up the price. It's legitimately an interesting game!
