My childhood before I had internet access <3 Happy to have found it on Steam.

Charlie II é um jogo de plataforma divertido e nostálgico, com gráficos retrô encantadores e uma trilha sonora cativante. A jogabilidade em si é bem fluida e os níveis são criativos, trazendo uma experiência que remete aos clássicos da infância. Porém, ao jogar com meu controle GameSir T3s, encontrei alguns problemas. O jogo não reconhece os comandos do direcional, funcionando apenas com o analógico, o que já é um inconveniente. Além disso, frequentemente o personagem pula sozinho, tornando a jogabilidade frustrante em momentos que exigem precisão. Ainda é um bom jogo, mas para quem planeja usar controles, vale considerar esses problemas antes de jogar. Espero que futuras atualizações melhorem a compatibilidade com controles.

The Thumbs Up here comes with a caveat: Charlie II is literally a game from 2001, updated to run on modern systems. There is nothing wrong with that. On the contrary, C2 is way more polished than many indie titles. It features nice graphics, good movement, tons of secrets etc etc. On the other side, as a product of its time, the game feels dated and contains everything you'd expect (and might not want to see nowadays): [strike]annoying[/strike] questionable level design, some input troubles, time-wasting sections, mandatory collectibles. There is absolutely no reason to play it today, except maybe to remind oneself that platforming has (thankfully) come a very long way in the last 20+ years.

Level design is just too annoying to be enjoyable.

I used to play this game on a floppy disc, that's how old it is, and yet I find it just as fun now as I did back then. This is a platform game where you play as Charlie the Duck, collecting coins and merking coconuts, birds, and other silly enemies. If you like old school Mario, this would be a game for you to try. There is more than what meets the eye with secret exits and hidden spots, making for a fun and challenging game. It feels like being transported to the early 00's. Please note that because the game is so old, you will have to change a line of coding to be able top open it - you'll find the guide here on Steam and it's not hard to do.
