Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

This game has certainly aged like fine whisky. The story is interesting and immersive, especially the way it is told via narration as you play. You are simultaneously engrossed in violent western bounty hunter scenarios and the retrospective saloon conversation. There are some gameplay features that haven't aged well, like the character movement and (situationally) the dueling mechanics. The movement can be very frustrating when jumping doesn't work consistently or you get thrown off a ledge by hitting a protruding hitbox too quickly. The dueling, contrary to many people's opinions, is really not bad and is quite fun. It is very anxiety inducing and puts you on the edge of your seat the whole time you are getting ready to shoot, which is exactly how a western duel is supposed to make you feel. The one exception is the duel against Hardin, where you are supposed to figure out to dodge instead of shooting initially. This wouldn't be too bad if the dodging actually worked consistently. You have to dodge before he shoots each time, faking him out to get him to shoot where you currently are moving from. Combine this with the lack of explicit instruction while playing, and you will find yourself failing repeatedly not quite knowing why. That duel was really frustrating and felt awful. But that's just one of many, and the other levels are all super fun and diverse for being a western shoot-em-up. The arcade modes are also insanely fun. They seriously play like a version of the game meant for an arcade cabinet, not just a version of the game crammed down into minigame format like many modern titles. There is a ton of replayability in finding different strategies to rack up high scores in that mode.

Game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Masterpiece. Was so good i nearly came multiple times, just playing the story mode. One of the best Western Games and even the 100% "Grind" was fun. Bonus, its historical accurate and it has the Dalton Brothers in it. 10/10

1 Quid and 09 pence.cheap as chips. played this years ago after a knee operation. thinking of it i probably completed it in a week then returned it to GAME (english store) under their no quibble returns policy .

Excellent arcade shooter game! I remember when I played 15 minutes and immediately loved it. Really cool art style, very engaging and enjoyable storytelling (keeps you curious and wanting to pay attention), and very satisfying, very well done combat! You chain together combo multipliers for stylish kills and use the "sense of death" mechanic to dodge lethal bullets in slow motion. You also engage in tense quick-draw duels like a classic Western. The fact that the game takes place entirely inside Silas' memory as he tells the story and the world reshapes itself in real-time based on what he says is brilliantly creative and fun. Not to mention you running into real historical figures like Billy the Kid, Butch Cassidy and Jesse James... Plus, skill trees for dual revolvers, shotguns, and rifles give each playstyle its own flavor and keep the combat fresh and the game replayable. This is another game that proves you don't need a massive open world or photorealistic graphics to make a memorable experience. Zero filler, highly replayable, and dirt cheap. Absolute masterpiece in my opinion.

Если любите western стиль и хотели немного почувствовать мир в тех фильмов, то советую поиграть. Тем более игр в стиле western крайне мало.
