Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is one of the most enjoyable arcade style shooters I’ve played. The gunplay feels satisfying, the Wild West setting is fantastic, and the story is told in a unique and entertaining way that kept me engaged from beginning to end. The visuals have a distinct comic book inspired style that still holds up well. Unfortunately, the biggest downside for me was the performance. The game’s comic book style presentation, that was combined with frequent stuttering, genuinely caused eye strain during play sessions and ultimately stopped me from going for 100% completion. It’s a shame because I really wanted to earn every achievement. That said, this game regularly goes on sale for around $1, and at that price it’s incredibly easy to recommend. Even with its flaws, it offers far more entertainment than its asking price. If you’re looking for a fun, fast paced shooter with satisfying gunplay and a memorable take on the Wild West, you really can’t go wrong with Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, especially during a sale.
