Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

之前前5块买的，才玩。剧情虽然短，但确实挺过瘾。符合名字，确实挺狂野。画面卡通渲染的，而且有些关卡风景真心不错，虽然跟现在游戏的画质比不了，但毕竟十多年前的东西了。整体还不错。

I absolutely LOVE this game. The first time I played it, I had pirated it and I liked it so much I bought it and finished it again 3 years later. The story is beautifully told in a unique way, and isn't annoyingly long or full of unneeded details or side quests. The gameplay is extremely satisfying and easy to get used to. It really makes you feel powerful. On top of all that the game can be pretty realistic if you turn off your crosshair and especially if you play on the "True West" difficulty. This game is a hidden gem among all the slop found in FPS games today. It's worth the money!

Well, the gun play is fun. The weapons have a nice beefy POW! And the enemies go flying. But that fun is very quickly overwritten by the graphics. You can't see a damn thing. You can't see who's shooting at you. And then, when you start getting hit, the whole screen fills up with this godawful damage overlay. Blur and splatters and white stars obscure your view, right when you need to see most. I found myself muttering over and over and over again, "I wish I could @#*&in' see!" I guess you're supposed to use the "Focus Meter" or whatever it's called. It turns the enemies red, so you can pick them out of the beige blur. But you can only activate it after killing x-number of enemies. But you can't kill enemies that you can't see. Other than that the story was cool. I liked the main character narrating the story as you play to the audience in the bar. Nice touch. And the voice acting was great. This would have been a thumbs down for me, just because of the visuals. But I got it on sale for $1.89 and had a few hours of fun with it before finally giving up. I like the story, but I can't continue through to the ending because I feel like I'm being punished for trying to have fun. Like somebody poking you in the eye when you're trying to win at the carnival shooting gallery.

get it if its on sale, but its a pretty fun game for fans of rdr and old west movies
