[H1] WHERE DID IT ALL GO SO WRONG??? [/H1]
This game is perfect.
No two ways about it, pardner.
[b]The graphics.[/b]
are more than enough. I don’t need hyperrealism to count every hair on the varmint I’m fixin’ to send to Boot Hill. [b]what carries the game is the art style[/b], pure Wild West glory.
Set in the untamed frontier, [spoiler]pretty much the only real culture and history Americans got[/spoiler], complete with comic-book-style level intros and wanted posters.
also, at the end of the review you'll find some code to increase FOV, shadows, and launch with no logos.
10/10. Fresh setting, detailed levels, and downright stunning to look at. A real feast for the eyes, greener than a poker table in a Dodge City saloon.
[b]The Story[/b]
is spun by a boastful old gunslinger who can’t keep his tall tales straight.
He forgets, he embellishes, he rewrites history on the fly like he’s playing with time itself. It feels like you’re riding shotgun in a damn good Western movie, one based on real outlaws and legends.
You’ll actually learn about the real gunslingers while blasting through their stories.
Excellent idea and execution. Another 10/10, no question.
[b]The gameplay[/b]
Most FPS games go south faster than a tumbleweed in a dust storm, point-and-clicking gets old quicker than week-old hardtack.
Not this one.
Lining up headshots and dropping outlaws left and right never gets old, and at the end of every level you get a proper showdown at high noon.
If you draw early like a yellow-bellied cheat, “history will remember you dishonorably.”
Who wants that kind of stain on their name? I shot honorably every time, and I didn’t need XP or any other carrot, just the satisfaction of a clean, fair fight.
This is gaming at its best.
It only gets a 9/10 because enemy variety is a bit lean.
[b]The characters[/b]
are real men. Manly men. They cuss when it fits, but never so much it turns vulgar. They shoot straight, talk rough about womenfolk, and live by their own code. That kind of honest, no-nonsense frontier spirit is sorely missing in modern games… and in the modern [spoiler]man[/spoiler].

After suffering through a string of downright terrible games, I can honorably say:
This one’s a rootin’-tootin’ masterpiece. I’m hankerin’ for more like it.
10/10 MUST BUY.
One of my all-time favorite games, bar none.
