Velmi povedená visual novela. Jednou z jejích hlavních předností je netradiční výběr postav.
Osobně jsem zde poprvé viděla jako randitelnou osobu asexuála.
Přála bych si více takových her.
Very adorable dating sim game. Interesting characters where some of which has disability which is a nice touch and adds diversity. Learned a few things about archeology terms and some other tidbits. Two mini-games consisting of nonogram and a math based logic number. Both of which are skip-able.
This game is adorable. The characters are very charming and the art gives a very warm atmosphere to go with the story. Some of the mini-games (which are optional) were a little hard to get through as they get harder near the end of the game, but you do get rewarded for them. If you're in it just for the story, you can turn them off, which is a welcomed feature if you've already completed all of them. If you want a sweet summer romance story, this is definitely for you.

Very cute, fun dating game
Really only bought this for an emoticon. The actual visual novel itself is really not that great. You can find WAY better and engaging ones elsewhere. But at the same time this type of visual novel is not really for me, so take my opinions with a HUGE grain of salt.
still one of my favorite indie otomes :) this game needs more reviews so here i am! please play it! it's very cozy and is reminiscent of classic dating sims with the weekly schedule and grinding mechanics - something you don't see too often anymore! the love interests are also all very delightful; there's someone for everyone! shout out to my #1 fav boy hendrik ily
재밌어요. 제발 누가 한글화를 해 주시기 바랍니다. 재밌다구요. It's fun. Please write in Korean. It's fun.
I haven't played through it all but I would say it's really good. I love the inclusion of disabilities from a guy with a chochlear implant to a guy with a prosthetic arm.
C14 Dating, developed and published by Winter Wolves, is a charming blend of romance, life simulation, and light educational adventure that sets itself apart from standard visual novels through its unusual archaeological theme. The story follows Melissa Flores, a third-year anthropology student from California, who embarks on an internship in Belgium to participate in an archaeological dig. This setup immediately gives the game a refreshing premise—one that merges slice-of-life storytelling with cultural discovery and romantic exploration. The narrative captures the experience of being in a foreign land, adjusting to new routines, and forming connections with people who come from entirely different backgrounds. It is a premise both simple and grounded, yet enriched by the thoughtful way the game weaves character relationships, personal growth, and cultural immersion together. The gameplay structure combines the familiar storytelling rhythm of visual novels with stat management and optional mini-games that lend a sense of agency to the player’s daily routine. Each week, the player chooses how Melissa will spend her time—balancing work at the dig site, study sessions, leisure, and social interactions. These choices build her attributes such as Diligence, Empathy, and Culture, which in turn influence dialogue options and romantic outcomes. The inclusion of mini-games, themed around archaeological tasks and lab work, adds flavor and context to the academic side of the story, though they can be disabled for players who prefer a more narrative-focused experience. The balance between scheduling and storytelling provides a relaxed, methodical pacing that mirrors the careful, deliberate nature of field research itself. While the system is not as deep as a full simulation game, it adds just enough variety to keep the player engaged while still focusing on the characters and story. The art direction and presentation in C14 Dating are among its strongest qualities. The visual style employs bright, expressive character designs that carry a strong anime influence, with charming detail and emotional clarity in every portrait. Each environment—from the excavation site to the quiet dormitory halls—feels vibrant and contributes to the sense of being part of a living, breathing academic community. The color palette emphasizes warmth and optimism, perfectly fitting the game’s summery European setting. The soundtrack complements this tone, offering soft, pleasant melodies that emphasize calm and curiosity rather than tension or melodrama. It is an atmosphere built around comfort, curiosity, and a quiet sense of adventure, inviting players to enjoy the slow rhythm of discovery both in romance and in science. One of the most commendable aspects of the game is its inclusivity and attention to representation. Melissa herself is portrayed as a motivated, intelligent young woman with a relatable mix of confidence and self-doubt. The supporting cast is equally diverse, both in personality and background. The game features love interests such as Kyler, a calm and thoughtful student who uses a cochlear implant; Deandre, a charming athlete with a laid-back personality; Hendrik, a gentle researcher who identifies as asexual and has a prosthetic arm; Shoji, a shy and artistic student; and Joan, a warm-hearted female route option that expands representation in a genre often limited to heterosexual romance. Melissa’s own Type 1 diabetes is also integrated naturally into her daily life, providing a rare and authentic glimpse into living with a chronic condition without making it her defining trait. These details make the characters feel grounded and human, allowing their relationships to develop through sincerity rather than cliché. Narratively, C14 Dating thrives in its everyday interactions. The dialogue writing is fluid and often laced with humor, balancing cultural exchanges, academic banter, and tender emotional moments with ease. Each route offers a unique tone: some are lighthearted and playful, others more introspective, yet all maintain a sense of authenticity that keeps the player emotionally invested. The romance routes tend to evolve slowly, reflecting the natural progression of new relationships built through shared experiences. However, the game avoids unnecessary drama, opting instead for a relaxed, wholesome tone that emphasizes emotional growth and mutual respect. For some players, this low-stakes approach may feel too subdued, especially compared to visual novels that rely heavily on conflict or tragedy. Yet, its gentleness is also what gives it a distinctive charm—it focuses on kindness, discovery, and self-understanding more than grand spectacle or heightened emotion. Technically, the game performs smoothly, reflecting Winter Wolves’ long-standing experience in visual novel development. Built on the Ren’Py engine, it offers clean navigation, consistent performance, and a polished interface that makes managing schedules and stats intuitive. The transitions between story and gameplay are seamless, and the optional mini-games work well for those seeking a bit of variety. There are no notable performance issues or bugs, and the localization quality is high, with clear and accessible English text. The game is also fully voiced in parts, adding further personality to its cast. While modest in scope compared to larger-budget productions, C14 Dating’s overall presentation feels professional and cohesive. Despite its many strengths, the game is not without limitations. The stat-building mechanics, while adding depth, can sometimes feel repetitive, and the archaeological mini-games lose their novelty after a while. Some players may wish for greater narrative branching or more dramatic tension in the plot, as the routes often follow predictable romantic arcs with limited deviation. Yet, these criticisms are balanced by the game’s sincerity and focus on emotional warmth. It never tries to be something it is not; instead, it fully embraces being a cozy, character-driven experience designed for relaxation and empathy rather than high drama or intensity. Ultimately, C14 Dating stands as a heartfelt and quietly ambitious entry in the visual novel genre. It succeeds in merging education, representation, and romance into a cohesive and pleasant experience that values sincerity over spectacle. Its archaeological premise gives it a refreshing sense of place, while its inclusive cast and grounded writing make it emotionally resonant. For players who enjoy romantic visual novels that highlight personal growth, friendship, and everyday beauty, this is a game that will leave a lasting impression. It may not aim for grandeur or complexity, but what it delivers—authenticity, warmth, and genuine human connection—is both rare and meaningful in its simplicity. Rating: 8/10
The minigames are fun, the characters engaging. A bit vanilla, but definitely sweet.
