Bundle Kitt

Bundle Kitt is some kind of Newgrounds/Adobe Flash style 2D retro pixel video "game" that tells the story of the "adventures" of a cat. It's presented a bit like an Instagram page that someone made for their pet cat, but it's been done in retro pixel/MS Paint style "art" and dumped on Steam as a free game instead. Gameplay consists of shuffling left or right and pressing the space bar to "meow" at things. The game is completed in roughly 3 minutes and comes across as more of a demo/joke game than any serious and sincere attempt to make a video game to entertain gamers. On a technical basis, in case this needs any more reasons to be disqualified as a serious PC game, the 2D retro pixel "art" is terrible, resolution and controls are locked, and the developer couldn't work out how to make widescreen work, so all you get is 4:3 pillarboxed. Also, the game is only 3 minutes long, I think I mentioned that but it's worth mentioning it twice. In fact, I probably spent more time writing this review than playing the game, and it was more entertaining hammering away at my keyboard because of the fun clicky sound it makes than it was shuffling left or right in the game. Yes, we all love cats and it's a charming and cute idea to tell a story about cats, but that's why people create blogs for their cats. They don't pay $100 to dump an Adobe Flash style non-game on Steam about them, seriously.
