Tried to like this game. I love games like the Subnautica series. I have hundreds of hours in them. Here are reasons I couldn't finish this one. 1. 6-year old humor runs throughout game. A lot of poop and pee jokes. Yes, it gets annoying. 2. More like a floating sim. Travel time between areas is slow and time consuming. 3. In-game messages from NPC are persistent and after the first few dozen, you tune them out. 4. The AI narrator speaks so fast that you miss most of it. 5. Woke slop....there was an "Anti-vaxxer" scene you come upon where the devs are mocking people who questioned the COVID vax. Talk about being on the wrong side of history. We know now that Fauci (US Government) lied about EVERYTHING. People had their lives destroyed questioning the government. Because we know the government never lies, am I right? I won't be buying the sequel or any other game from them and I hope this studio goes broke. Too many other choices out there.

I absolutely love this game. A lot of the negative reviews seem to come from people who only played for about 30 minutes and didn’t give it enough time to really understand what it offers. Breathedge is an excellent game with fantastic mechanics, a great survival system, satisfying crafting, and a truly enjoyable exploration experience. Discovering new resources, finding something as simple as glass or paint, combining them to create new items, and then moving forward to the next quest is surprisingly rewarding. The game has a unique charm that kept me engaged and entertained throughout. I honestly can’t remember the last time a game gave me this much joy over the past year or so. Well done to the developers — you created something special. I absolutely love this game!

Gameplay is a chore, guidance is poor, comedy is grating and nonstop.

I wouldn’t even recommend this when it’s given away for free. It looks good, movement etc feels good but that’s mostly Unreal Engine doing the heavy lifting. at the very least I can say it doesn't just use AI slop and there's clearly a talented art team behind it. However... The writing is like an edgelord teen from twenty years ago made a game. Full of really outdated sexist “jokes” about sexual harassment. The bigotry isn't even interesting, it isn't even like there's something to make you think that's bad but funny or observationally clever. They are claiming it’s “intentionally tasteless” and all in good fun but it does not even remotely hit that mark and it is constantly hitting down. Beyond this the gameplay is lacking a lot. Not a very inventive game loop. Go to waypoint, click button, interrupted by the attention seeking humour, next waypoint, rinse and repeat. It's just boring. Even the foundations of the game are not great. Set every sound setting to zero and you'll still hear sounds, that sort of level of rooted bugs. What an utter disappointment.

So I actually liked the concept of the game and even the humor. I liked the expanse feeling of space, and construction process. It was a little slow to start, but eventually the ugprades made it fun to play. Until after 15 hours of playing I lost a huge amount of loot from my base. I had two suitcases full of hard to get items that just dissappeared. I tried multiple attempts at recovery, but my saves also did not have my loot and I just didn't have it in me to refarm the materials. It sucks that I can't recommend this game just due to a bug, but it is the reality.
