I've played the game quite a bit. While I do very much enjoy it, I can't recommend it in it's current state. I will list off the most egregious issues that have been plaguing the game for far too long:
- Inability to choose which weapons/no loadout system
- Server menu does not accurately list what servers are available or what maps are being played on. I can try to enter a match and be kicked out because it's full, despite the menu showing otherwise. Even if I get into a lobby, there's no guarantee that the map it's listed as will be the one you'll be playing on.
- There are no messages that explain why you got kicked from a lobby. You have no way of telling if it was from lag, the host leaving, teamkilling, the host kicking you specifically, etc.
- You can't customize the sights on guns. There are several guns that have godawful iron sights and they're very difficult to use. Some of them don't even have any optical variants to speak of. Because the selection of guns is random every time you spawn, so are the sights.
- Spawning issues. There have been many times in team gamemodes where the entire team keeps spawning on top of each other in the same exact spot. God forbid someone is AFK and you can't move.
- You can barely customize lobbies. You have no say over what guns are in play, what sights can be used, no ability to fix team imbalance, can't set a time limit, etc.
Some of the more minor issues include:
- Music settings don't seem to work. I have it turned completely off, yet my ears still get blasted with that stupid ass welcome music every time I load up the game
- Maybe it's just me, but penetration through wooden walls needs to be fixed. It rarely seems to work
- If you try to enter a game and are immediately kicked out because it's full, the game for some reason decides to do it again even though you're not in a lobby? As in I will be back in the menu and it turns the screen black and makes the kicked sound effect.
All that being said, the gunplay and overall feel of BodyCam is very nice. I enjoy a lot of the weapons and gamemodes available. I hope that the developers fix the current issues and continue to add on to what I see as a very promising game.
