eh. Its a poor man's chess kudos on the unique animations though and a progress system and using dice
It's a lot like chess, only there's not really any strategy involved due to the mechanics in place for moving. You roll dice, which goes up to the massive number of 3. You then move a piece to a location on the board. You can kill the opponent's pieces, or make a bee-line for their flag. The lack of strategy makes this a disappointing Chess like game that isn't engrossing enough to play more than once.

Gioco povero e noioso, presenta pure qualche bug.
It's a good idea but underdeveloped. If this had come out for the Apple II or Sega Master System it would have been considered genius.
Sadly this game... is just really, really boring. it attempts to bring a nice twist to a chess-like experience, but does so really poorly. from what i have seen, there are only three unit types, so there isn't as much variety as chess. to make matters worse, your move distance is determined by a dice roll. now, you may roll your eyes, that doesn't sound that bad. oh, but it is. so much worse. if you roll a three, you HAVE to move a piece EXACTLY three spaces. its like the unholy child of Chess and Snakes & f*cking ladders!
For children 3-7 years.
Board Battlefield is sadly another example to add to the pile of interesting ideas that are poorly implemented. Board Battlefield is essentially military-themed chess, although worse than chess in pretty much every way possible. First off, the board is 9x9 instead of the standard 8x8 of a chess board. Additionally, you’re only limited to three units/pieces, Infantry, Rocket Artillery, and Tanks. Each side has Infantry in every space in the 2nd and 7th rows respectively, Rocket Artillery in the b, d, f, and h files, tanks in the a, c, h, and I file, and an immobile flag in the e file in place of a king. The objective of the game is to either destroy all your opponent’s units or move a unit onto your opponent’s flag space. Infantry are essentially your pawns, except unlike in chess they do not have the ability to attack 1 space diagonally, they can only attack and move forwards. They also do not get promoted once reaching the other side of the board meaning once an infantry crosses the board, it becomes entirely useless other than being cannon fodder for the enemy player. Rocket Artillery are your bishops, being able to move and attack diagonally, however since they are located in the b, d, f and h files and can only move diagonally on a 9x9 board meaning it takes an odd number of moves to get to the other side of the board, it is physically impossible for the Rocket Artillery to ever reach the flag space to capture it, meaning they are only useful for attacking units. Tanks are essentially your rooks, being capable of moving and attacking straight in any direction. Now, the issues with the pieces are bad enough, but where this game really shows its poor design is with movement. There are certainly some good aspects of movement, such as that all friendly pieces can jump other friendly pieces, which is certainly useful. However, the major drawback is that how far you can move your pieces is determined by a dice roll at the beginning of your turn. The die only has numbers 1-3 on it, meaning at most you can move 3 spaces with a piece on any given turn. Since this dice roll is entirely random, this movement system takes almost every bit of strategy out of the game and makes victory almost entirely based on random chance. I am not joking when I say that I have had multiple games where I have had a unit within range to capture their flag but going 10-15 turns without rolling the necessary number to capture it. Board battlefield also adds various different special abilities you can use; however these are also poorly thought out as they are locked behind level progression and also have a gold cost, which means that players who have been playing longer have a clear advantage in online play due to having access to more abilities. Upon completing every match you get xp and gold. The amount of gold depends on the number of units you kill and xp depends on whether you win or lose. The abilities you have at your disposal are as follows:

Landmine: Unlocked at level 3. Costs 125 gold. Places a landmine on your flag that kills the first infantry unit that steps on it but doesn’t effect tanks.
Infantry Airdrop: Unlocked at level 4. Costs 200 gold. Allows you to drop in another infantry onto an empty square in a file you control
Rocket Artillery Airdrop: Unlocked at level 5. Costs 300 gold. Identical to infantry airdrop except for Rocket Artillery.
Air Strike: Unlocked at level 6. Costs 450 gold. Allows you to instantly kill a specified unit within 5x4 squares of your flag. Can only be used once per match.
Tank Airdrop: Unlocked at level 8. Costs 300 gold. Same as the other airdrops except with tanks.
Naval Strike: Unlocks at level 10. Costs 500 gold. Allows you to kill a specified unit within a 4x4 square in the corner of you opponent's side. Can only be used once per match.
Also, some additional observations I have made:

The game frequently crashes, especially when tanks move.
The AI in solo matches legitimately seems to cheat, it always seems to roll the EXACT number it needs to get in order to attack one of your units. You will think “there’s only a 33% chance of the AI killing my unit if I move it here” and the AI will hit that 33% chance EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
The game supposedly has leaderboards but they have been “temporarily unavailable” since I played for the first time in 2019.
You have to get to level 2 to get the ability to change your flag. Yes, you heard that right, customizing your flag is locked behind progression.
The achievements are very glitchy. The achievement for winning 25 matches did not pop for me until I had already gotten to 38 wins. Likewise while many of the achievements for using the abilities unlock on steam, they do not register as unlocking in game.
The game offers hotseat mode which is essentially a local 2-player match where you can play against a friend on the same computer. However, for whatever reason there is no option to disable the turn timer in hotseat like you can in solo and additionally both players abilities pull from your gold pool and the gold won at the end is only based on the blue player, so you actively burn through gold simply by playing hotseat. WHY IN THE HELL ARE ABILITIES NOT FREE IN HOTSEAT? So yeah, I would not recommend this game. It’s poorly designed and very buggy.
TL:DR:
The game is chess minus the strategy and plus random chance. Do not recommend.
Il gioco semplicemente bara, se volete contrastare la "sfortuna" dovrete spendere del vero cash. Frustrante
While this looks like a tactical/wargame, Board Battlefield is more like a boardgame that combines chess-like pieces with limited moves with RNG, as you roll a dice to determine how far you can move. This forms a frustrating limitation on the game. There's no campaign and multiplayer is dead. Combining the limited scope of the game with tablet-like features and fixed (low) resolution, this is borderline shovelware and I can't recommend it. It's just not fun, or great quality.
