Amaze!
I want to start off by saying that I almost NEVER leave game reviews. That being said, holy sh*t... I cannot stress just how much I recommend this game. first off the general premise of drafting new rooms each day is one that's genuinely creative but also simple enough that I had no problem jumping right in! any more complicated aspects are cleverly introduced in a way that never messes with the emersion or story. speaking of story, wow does this game have one. I started off with one objective, get to room 46 and complete the game! but as I slowly made progress twards doing that I found myself getting sucked into the overarching mystery. even now that I've completed the main objective, I can't help but feel like I've just gotten started! I physicly don't have the words to describe how invested I am right now, I have five pages of notes and am running off zero sleep, Undertale levels of Determination, and enough Dr. Pepper to kill a man. I don't need sleep I need to find out how to unlock these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ doors so yea, buy this game, or else..
Puzzle Solving, Rouge-lite, Atmospheric and Melancholy experience that will leave any player wanting for more. A well polished game that does require a bit of time to play each session (around 30 mins) or you have to restart your days progress, but this can also be used to your advantage...
Most Goated game of all time, the person who came up with the idea to combine roguelike with puzzles deserves an award.
It is one of the weirdest games I have played so far and I played over 100s if not 1000s of games at this point. Usually I am not a fan of puzzle games because they fall into 2 categories, very easy puzzles where it becomes boring or the gameplay itself sucks and is boring itself. Blue Prince does not fall in any of those. The puzzles go from "wow cool, first grade math" to "What if I do X and then draft Y on day Z while IRL is a Bloodmoon." The soundtrack(s) are amazing, calming, relaxing, I listen to them outside of the game too if I wanna just lay back, relax and think about life. Which is funny because the entire game is a thinking process. Things that look not important at all can become really important the moment you find a specific rooms. There are plenty of meta puzzles too. Who ever designed this game is crazy. I can not imagine how hard it had to be to develope such game. And you are going to need a sheet to write everything down. There is sadly no journel in game so... word it is. I wish the dev the best and hope to see another masterpiece like this. Would buy it right away or a DLC. You have done well.
the second entry in the "you own a big weird magic house and you have to explore it and solve its mysteries" genre along with Book of Hours
