It is okay, but some things do not work well enough to make me suggest the game. The story doesn't impress me. Some of the gameplay mechanics are more clunky than entertaining or challenging. A good number of the bosses are just overly drawn out combats where the boss regularly does something unavoidable so either you miraculously get a lot of bonus damage to win or you just run out of heals before they use too many unavoidable attacks. Supposedly you can dodge every attack except most of the attacks causing me issues bypass any parry or dodge I attempt. Anyone that actually wants this game will find it themselves. Otherwise people should look for other choices rather than approach this series and this game specifically. As an addition something just flat didn't show up at the appropriate time and I missed something I would have liked to have seen. It's just gone. No way to fix. No way to see it without playing through again. No warning and no reason because it just didn't happen like it was supposed to. I just don't feel like playing through anymore because of just how annoying that is. Could get the items, could get 100% anyway, just can't see that story in a satisfactory way because it didn't show up when it was supposed to.
amazing metroidvania liked it a lot more than the first one my only complaint would be the non pixel art cutscenes don't really fit the game but it's not that big of a deal
Absolutely loved my entire playthrough. For me, basically every single change was a positive and I adored each of the new weapons with the flail being the personal favorite. Most of the story went over my head, but the gameplay and the vibes were enough to keep me fully engaged my whole playthrough.
Good game.
I tried playing the first game when it came out and didn't like it, this one fixes all the problems I had with the first one and was a super fun game. The castlevania level was a super nice surprise! Cool artstyle, fun combat, really fun and flashy platforming that isn't tedious like the first one. My only big complaint is how many collectables there are and how poorly they're handled. There are 7 (cherubs, sisters, gold, seeds, ghost girls, letters, and the statueworker tools) not counting any of your usable equipment like altars and rosary beads. I may even be forgetting a few honestly. Its just way too much and the game does not track which ones you have or don't, or mark the map of which ones you've gotten. So you have to write it down yourself or mark the map yourself. Pretty lame :(, but that's the only major complaint I have.
si
I think it's a very entertaining game with good graphics. Besides that, the implementation of new weapons greatly improved the gameplay and the forced search for new areas. 😋
