absolute cinema
Loved the first game (that I just completed, so there is no nostalgia bias) but hate its sequel, wtf happened ? - The clean hand-drawn 2D cinematics are an odd choice for me, it doesn't work as well as the pixel art ones from the first game - The animation feels too cartoonish - Some enemies look like NBA Players (the tall ones with a stick dealing elemental damage) ?? Can't unsee it - Movements are clunky when they don't refuse to work. - It's frustrating to have to switch weapons in combat to unlock movesets to avoid damage, because I don't want to fight with the stupid no range no damage little blades - The "arena" rooms are poorly designed (they remind me of the worst parts of Silksong). Metroidvanias really need to stop doing this, this is cheap game design to artificially boost playtime. - The foreground art can hide the vicious small enemies - If you die too much, picking your fervour back still doesn't fully restore the bar. So you can't cast prayers anymore and have to go back to the city to wipe out the guilt, very fun. Feel free to git gud me TLDR : too frustrating, less charm, poor game design choices
Damn it! It's 5am and I can't stop playing lol There's always more to find on the map, things you can't unlock or get through yet because you haven't made progress elsewhere. Then you make progress, earn a new weapon/ability/item, and now you wanna know what's behind that door you couldn't open, or that gap you couldn't cross... and it keeps going. If you're a curious person, I dare you to stop playing this game. I dare you! I had already finished the game months ago, then the new DLC came out and I can't stop playing again XD

Much better game but somehow less memorable. Its a real metroidvania now, with plenty of weapon abilities, skills, backtracking and secrets. Very fun. Music, no notes, Viola is underrated. Pixel animation, fantastic. Minor nitpicks like executions and some hitboxes. I was iffy on the story at the start. But as I played and put together pieces, I began to love the Miracle. In B1, it seemed an evil force over the land, but turned out to be just a tool. In B2, it really is a bumbling idiot who lucked out into being worshipped again. The Miracle stories are great to read about. Voice acting (Spanish) is good and translation and subtitles (English) are good and make sense, a bit flowery. No big bugs or softlocks. But stuff about it does not grip me the way B1 did. Ten Piedad has more presence than all of the B2 bosses combined, all of which are humans and not that interesting. Only the final boss was memorable. Areas are good, but some are too small to make a lasting impression, some interesting areas are nothing but transitions to other zones, there's way too many caves. The map is a circle and blends together, half the map being cave does not help. The cutscene animations are weirdly distracting in a placeholder way, the relic animation is burned into my brain and not in a good way. Mea Culpa DLC is 12 euro for not that much content. It's basically on permanent 66% discount, but the point still stands. Very much enjoyed the game, and I recommend anyone interested to just buy it and play it because its great. I'd argue it can stand among the titans of the genre. But if I want Miracle I will stick to Blasphemous 1.
