I only bought this because Blacklight: Retribution shut down, since Tango Down is still playable and very similar to Retribution. HRV is still here and most of the weapons are similar, the thing I miss the most though is onslaught (kinda lika COD Zombies), which this game doesn't have. But it has Black Ops instead which is more similar to L4D, run through different parts of the maps while fightning enemies. The main difference is that there's some small objectives that you have to complete too. Black Ops is a fun game-mode, and multiplayer too of course! It's no longer possible to buy it on Steam. I never really got to play this game, before Games for Windows Live was discontinued by Microsoft. UNTIL I found out that you can still login and play! So we're a small group og dedicated fans that play every saturday. Multiplayer totally still works in 2026! The coolest thing this game has going for it, is a feature in your visor, that lets you see enemies and teammates through walls, for a short time. It completely changes the game because you can't hide anywhere. Camping is impossible when everyone got wallhack as a part of the game. Though, when using the function, you're pretty much blind to everything else in the environment, and can't fire your gun, until you turn the visor off. And there's a delay, so be cafeful! It's still possible to legally obtain this game, but not through the steam store.
Blacklight was a fun cyberpunk fps series that never really got a chance to take off. With a studio that was short on funds and the IP spread out among different publishers, it's unlikely this series will ever return. Tango Down's primary game mechanic is the ability to wall hack at the cost of being unable to defend yourself while active. This leads to tacticool moments reminiscent of Rainbow Six Siege. The art style takes some influence from 90's cyberpunk like AKIRA mixed with modern military equipment while being set in Eastern Europe. If you ever find yourself with a PC copy by chance, check it out. There's a Discord ready to help you set the game up for online play.
Closest thing to Blacklight: Retribution I'll ever get. Shame devs couldn't post either BL:TD or BL:R back on store. Pretty fun when you get players. There are some out there, just need to join their discord.
Old, but gold. Still have some players. Wallhacks and gun still go Brrrrrrrrr
