Updated review: The game has been updated and is in a working state now. The math logic for Aces being 1 or 11 now works, and the chips do not overtake the screen if repeatedly clicked anymore. The dev did mention that the game is still intended to be single hand fast black jack versus the rules you would expect to find sitting down at a casino. I do hope to see more development in the future with things like being able to play multiple hands and being able to select/modify the rules for the game. It is important to note that currently this game still does not match average casino rules, but with the game breaking bugs patched I can say its worth the pickup if you want a lightweight local blackjack game that you can run on the side. Old review: dealer had 2 Aces, drew a Queen and the game considered that a 22 break and not a 12. If the dealer is showing an Ace the game will offer you insurance, and then let you hit, double or split, and then flip the 10 over revealing dealer BlackJack after you play the hand out. If the dealer shows a 10 and has an Ace hidden the game also lets you play the hand before revealing the dealer blackjack. You can only play one hand against the dealer, no bots or option to open a second hand. The deck is never shuffled so I assume the cards are just being generated instead of a preset count of cards that the game would run through like a real 'shoe'. This game should be called Mob Blackjack because the rule set is criminal. Not to mention the chips will expand and cover the entire screen forcing you to alt+f4 just to get out of the game just by continuing to click on them. All of this is fixable and I really do hope I can come back and update this review to be positive. In the current state I would not recommend using this game to learn BlackJack, and I would definitely not recommend visiting a real casino with these house rules.
Needs option to disable music without disabling sound, maybe a list of options when hitting esc? Music is extremely annoying. Encountered a weird bug when adding ante too fast causes size of chips to increase to the point where I have to close the game. That's just the first 5 minutes of playtime too. Needs more going on for it, too simple imo. Good if you want a simple game of blackjack but I feel as a browser game would be better.
Def needs some work, it works to practice which is good but I was playing with the 100 chips every time and it just keeps getting bigger every time you click it lmaoo eventually the only thing on mty screen was the chip and I couldnt click the hit or stand buttons . I think with some key binds to hit those buttons and maybe limit the size chips can be this would be solid. for now I probably would not recommend anyone spends their money on this. Couple bug fixes though and sure
FANTASTIC that there is a casual, single player, not "too commercial" (no for purshase in-game currency, cheesy animations or anime-girls) Blackjack game on Steam. I hope to see updates revising the graphics, adding a settings menu including option to turn off music and making the game look and feel a bit more "premium" soon! I really like the concept of a clean simple Blackjack game. Thumbs up from me!
