This game is nothing more than a black image covering the entire screen area, without the presence of any incentives.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

The main character's development..the soundtrack! Man this IS PEAK! Like the climax is TOTALLY UNEXPECTED!!

Black Screen, created by Dilena Udry, is an unusual piece of software that deliberately abandons nearly every convention associated with video games, presenting instead a stark and uncompromising concept: a completely black screen with no interaction, no feedback, and no defined purpose. At first encounter, it can feel like a joke or even a technical error, but that initial reaction is part of the experience. The title positions itself not as entertainment in the traditional sense, but as a conceptual experiment—something closer to digital art than a game, where the absence of content becomes the central idea. There are no mechanics to learn, no controls to master, and no systems to engage with. Once launched, the screen remains black, offering no visual cues or instructions. This lack of interaction removes any sense of progression or achievement, leaving the player alone with their expectations. In most games, even the simplest actions are guided by feedback loops—movement, sound, or visual change—but here, those loops are intentionally absent. The result is an experience that shifts the focus away from the software itself and onto the player’s response to it. Whether you choose to wait, reflect, or simply close the application becomes the only form of “interaction” available. The significance of Black Screen lies in how it challenges assumptions about what constitutes a game. By stripping away goals, mechanics, and even basic sensory engagement, it raises questions about why players engage with games in the first place. For some, it may function as a form of satire, poking fun at the idea that anything can be labeled and sold as a game regardless of content. For others, it can be interpreted as a minimalist statement about overstimulation, offering a moment of enforced stillness in contrast to the constant activity found in most modern titles. In this sense, the experience is less about playing and more about interpreting. However, this conceptual approach also defines its limitations. From a traditional perspective, there is effectively nothing to do and nothing to evaluate in terms of gameplay. There are no systems to analyze, no narrative to follow, and no sense of immersion beyond the initial novelty of its premise. Once the idea has been understood, there is little reason to return, as the experience does not evolve or reveal additional layers over time. This makes it difficult to assess using the same criteria applied to conventional games, as it intentionally avoids those standards altogether. Interestingly, its reception reflects this duality. While some players appreciate it as a bold or humorous experiment, others view it as empty or lacking substance. The divide often comes down to expectations—those approaching it as a game are likely to be disappointed, while those viewing it as a conceptual piece may find it intriguing, if only briefly. Its value, therefore, is not in sustained engagement but in the reaction it provokes, whether that reaction is curiosity, confusion, or critique. In a broader context, Black Screen can be seen as a commentary on the medium itself. By presenting a product with genre labels and a storefront presence while containing none of the expected features, it highlights how much of gaming is shaped by convention and expectation. It invites players to question whether interaction is necessary for something to be considered a game, and whether absence can carry as much meaning as presence. These ideas may not resonate with everyone, but they give the project a sense of purpose beyond its apparent emptiness. Ultimately, Black Screen is not something to be “played” in the usual sense, but something to be experienced, however briefly. It offers no challenge, no reward, and no progression, and it does not attempt to justify itself through traditional design. Instead, it exists as a statement—one that will either feel thought-provoking or entirely pointless depending on the perspective of the player. For a niche audience interested in experimental or conceptual works, it may hold some value as a conversation piece, but for most players, it will likely feel more like a curiosity than a meaningful experience. Very fun, 10/10 game you will not believe what happens at 10 hours. Biggest plot twist of my entire gaming experience!
Too white.
