幾十年前的最頂的遊戲 目前音樂還是頂級,漫畫風格很棒
Heroes of Might and Magic with a dash of warcraft...sounds good? its not.

first off, this game is clunky and buggy and feels unfinished, the pathfinding might just be the worst ive ever encountered in a game. that being said, the developers were clearly very ambitious with this game and it shows how much love and care they put into creating it. because of this the game has a lot of charm and a great atmosphere.
Забытая как и тысячи других ртсов в прошлом тысячелетии, пока не выйдет хотя бы ремастер.

Need a remastered version.
Although janky, the game feels more like a diablo which is a way more fun RTS genre. Looks like you can control more character, although first few levels you only have one character which felt a little weird. Also steam doesn't actually record any playtime when in game. The voicelines piss my off though.
Black Moon Chronicles, developed by Cryo Interactive and published by Microids, is a late-1990s strategy title rooted in dark fantasy and adapted from the French comic series Chroniques de la Lune Noire. Released during a period when hybrid strategy games were experimenting with blending grand campaign systems and real-time tactical combat, it attempts to deliver both narrative depth and large-scale warfare within a single cohesive framework. Now available digitally on Steam, the game stands as both a relic of its era and an ambitious attempt to merge storytelling with strategic complexity. The player assumes the role of Wismerhill, a half-elf mercenary whose journey unfolds against the backdrop of a fractured medieval world dominated by rival factions. Early in the campaign, Wismerhill is little more than a capable soldier with aspirations of influence, but as events progress, he becomes entangled in political intrigue and escalating war among four major powers: the Empire, the Forces of Justice, the Black Moon, and the Light. Each faction represents distinct ideological and strategic philosophies, and the player’s alignment shapes not only the unfolding narrative but also the types of units and resources available. This branching structure gives the campaign replay value and reinforces the game’s emphasis on choice-driven progression. Black Moon Chronicles operates on two interconnected layers. On the strategic world map, players manage territories, recruit units, move armies, and secure resources. Diplomacy and positioning are central here, as expanding influence requires both careful planning and readiness for confrontation. When opposing armies meet, the game transitions into real-time battles where tactical placement, spellcasting, and unit coordination determine victory or defeat. This dual-layer design was ambitious for its time, offering players both macro-level strategy and micro-level combat engagement. Combat scenarios are large in scale, often involving numerous units on screen at once. Infantry, cavalry, magical units, and monstrous creatures all play roles in shaping battlefield outcomes. Magic adds another dimension, allowing certain characters to unleash powerful spells capable of turning the tide. However, while the scope is impressive, the execution reflects its late-1990s origins. Pathfinding can be inconsistent, unit responsiveness sometimes feels sluggish, and battles may become chaotic due to limited control refinement. Despite these limitations, there remains a sense of grandeur in commanding sizeable fantasy armies across sprawling maps. Narratively, the game draws heavily from its comic book source material, infusing the campaign with morally complex themes and political tension. Wismerhill’s path is not framed as a straightforward heroic journey; alliances are fragile, motives are often ambiguous, and the tone leans toward darker fantasy rather than idealistic heroism. This grounding in established lore gives the world a richer context than many contemporaries of its era, even if much of the storytelling unfolds through text and static dialogue rather than cinematic presentation. Visually, Black Moon Chronicles embraces the sprite-based graphics and top-down perspective typical of its generation. Units are clearly distinguishable, though animation detail is limited by modern standards. The environments, ranging from fortified castles to open battlefields, serve their functional purpose well but lack the environmental depth found in more contemporary strategy titles. The soundtrack, however, contributes meaningfully to the atmosphere, featuring dramatic compositions that enhance the sense of epic confrontation. One of the game’s strengths lies in its content volume. With numerous missions, faction routes, and a map editor included, it offers substantial material for players who enjoy retro strategy experiences. The inclusion of a map editor was particularly forward-thinking at the time, encouraging community experimentation and extending replayability. For players willing to adapt to its interface and pacing, there is a significant amount of strategic depth to uncover. That said, the game’s age is unmistakable. Interface design can feel cumbersome, tutorials are minimal by modern standards, and balance issues occasionally surface during extended campaigns. The learning curve may be steep for new players unfamiliar with classic real-time strategy conventions. Compared to contemporary strategy games that prioritize streamlined UI and refined AI, Black Moon Chronicles demands patience and tolerance for dated mechanics. Ultimately, Black Moon Chronicles remains an intriguing example of ambitious hybrid strategy design from the turn of the millennium. Its combination of faction-based storytelling, strategic map management, and large-scale fantasy battles gives it a distinctive identity. While modern players may find certain mechanics clunky or imprecise, fans of retro strategy titles and dark fantasy settings can still appreciate its scale, lore integration, and experimental spirit. As a historical artifact of late-90s PC strategy development, it offers both nostalgic value and insight into the genre’s evolution. Rating: 6/10
