Bendy and the Ink Machine is a really unique horror game that mixes an old cartoon aesthetic with a dark and mysterious atmosphere. I really liked the creepy world, the vintage animation style, and the story that slowly reveals more about the secrets of the ink machine. The atmosphere is one of the strongest parts of the game, making every chapter feel like you are exploring a forgotten nightmare. I especially enjoyed the choices you can make throughout the game, and I took the Angel path because it felt like the right decision for my playthrough. It added a different feeling to the experience and made the journey more interesting. The puzzles, exploration, and horror elements work well together, even if some parts can feel a little slow. The characters are memorable, the design of the enemies is creative, and the mystery keeps you wanting to discover what happens next. Overall, Bendy and the Ink Machine is a great horror experience with a fantastic art style and an interesting story. It may not be perfect, but its atmosphere and originality make it a game worth playing. I really enjoyed my time with it and would recommend it to fans of horror games and dark storytelling.

Definitely an indie dev's first big, ambitious project, but its popularity back in 2017-18 cannot be exaggerated. At the time, Bendy and the Ink Machine was very unique with its style and aesthetic, and while it's easy to see where the game falters in retrospect design wise (especially in comparison to its superior sequel which solves near enough every problem fans had with this game), I still really enjoy this game. While not perfect, such as with the clunky combat, slow movement, low-tense scares and the fetch quest galore with Chapter 3, the game is still at the very least fun. For a first entry, Ink Machine is a well crafted vision that works great on its own, but also stands as a canvas that can be improved upon, which the developers clearly proved they were capable of doing if you were around back when the first chapter initially released and saw as every subsequent chapter also came with upgrades and patches to the chapters that came before it. The game simply gets better the further it progresses. The Bendy series as a whole is one I can more confidently say is made by passionate devs who aim to push the series to new heights without losing sight of what made the it special in the first place, which is something I feel is lost in other mascot horror series in recent years.

🎬 Bendy and the Ink Machine починається досить спокійно, поступово знайомлячи нас із сюжетом та головним героєм — Генрі Штайном, колишнім аніматором Joey Drew Studios. Після багатьох років він повертається до старої студії, але замість звичайної зустрічі знаходить повністю покинуте місце, де явно сталося щось дивне. 📖 Сюжет поступово розкривається через дослідження студії, аудіозаписи, записки та різні деталі. Ми дізнаємося про дивні експерименти з чорнилом, зниклих працівників і те, як мультяшні персонажі, яких колись створювали для розваги, перетворилися на справжніх монстрів. 🖼️ Дизайн гри — одна з її головних переваг. Уся студія зроблена в стилі старої анімації: дерев'яні коридори, старі проектори, плакати з Бенді, мультяшні декорації та величезні чорнильні машини. Веселий вигляд старих мультфільмів дуже добре контрастує з темною атмосферою та створює власний впізнаваний стиль. 🎶 Музика також чудово доповнює гру. Старі мультяшні мелодії, тиша, звуки машин і краплі чорнила створюють постійне відчуття напруги. А під час погонь швидкий музичний супровід ще сильніше нагнітає атмосферу. 👻 Сам хорор більше тримається на атмосфері та очікуванні, ніж на постійних скримерах. Темні коридори, чорнильні істоти та раптові переслідування змушують постійно чекати, що щось зараз станеться. 🎮 Геймплей складається з дослідження, головоломок, пошуку предметів і сутичок із ворогами. Деякі завдання можуть трохи затягуватися, а в студії легко заблукати, але загалом це добре працює разом із атмосферою. 🖤 Особисто в мене Bendy and the Ink Machine залишила багато гарних вражень. Гра має цікавий сюжет, дуже впізнаваний дизайн і атмосферу, яку складно сплутати з іншими хорорами. І навіть після проходження залишається бажання повернутися до цієї студії ще раз. ⭐ Моя оцінка — 9/10.
