Reviews
In its current state, the game still needs quite a bit of work. At the moment, I don’t feel it justifies the £4.99 price tag; something closer to £1.99 or even £1 would be more reasonable until these issues are addressed. I previously worked on this project as an artist, but I’m deliberately putting that aside to give an honest and fair review. This isn’t meant to be negative—there’s just a lot that needs improving before the game feels truly ready. This type of game isn’t usually my go-to, but I made a genuine effort to approach it with an open mind. As the director of a company that focuses on transparent, unbiased, and honest game reviews, it’s important to me that this review reflects those values. I’ll be publishing a full, in-depth review on my website once I’ve finished the game completely, without any help from the developer. While I do know the developer personally—and they currently work with my company as a contractor—this review is based purely on my experience as a player. I originally bought the game to help increase its visibility on Steam and hopefully encourage more people to try it, but that should really happen once the more noticeable issues are fixed. There are several bugs that stand out. For example, if you change the main character’s name, the dialogue still uses the default name. There are also invisible triggers that repeatedly display the same message when you walk back and forth over them. These interactions should only happen once unless clearly intended, such as with a signpost. The controls feel awkward and unintuitive. Using the spacebar to interact with almost everything and the arrow keys for movement instead of the more common WASD setup feels outdated. On top of that, the background music sometimes resets when certain actions are taken—what causes this isn’t clear—but it’s frustrating, especially when the volume suddenly becomes too loud and needs adjusting again. The trailer was also a bit disappointing. The in-game music actually fits the game very well, but the trailer uses darker, grittier music that doesn’t match the overall tone. Presenting it more clearly as a fun, adventure-style game might have helped set better expectations. This is one area where my personal opinion comes in, but overall the game feels rushed. A project of this size would have benefited from a longer development period, with more time spent polishing and refining the experience so players would want to come back to it. For now, I’m not saying to avoid the game outright. I’d encourage people to look into it themselves and decide whether it’s something they’d enjoy.
