Love this game, as an experienced fighting game player this game just allows so much freedom with movement/combos/mixups etc. I play a lot of Aang and enjoy the game so much, much of the community says he's not the best but honestly if you put the work in any character can become very good. I wish they would add an upgrade option for the deluxe edition of the game,

Probably the best new fighting game release in 3+ years in my opinion. Characters are very deep and their support versions for most characters are substantially different from each other. Combos are not super difficult but the game is a little more old school in that the combos are also not completely baby mode like most modern games. Characters are powerful and it is the experience of the game to oppress the opponent and then be oppressed by another opponent. Game runs super well (its sprite based so it's not going to be demanding at all), netcode is very good you even get to set your own delay frames per opponent to avoid rollbacks. TLDR - If you like playing vs other players the game delivers super super well and you will have more than $30 worth of fun I promise. If you want more single player focused content there is not a huge amount here for you currently and I do not know how much will be added.
Was gifted this by a friend who loves the game (he paid for it though) and the Avatar series (I do too, who doesn't), but this game has quite a few problems, with some that need to be fixed before being truly recommendable. Firstly, the fact there's no ranked mode on release and some characters that aren't fully complete in the story and online is rather awful. I understand though it as it was supposedly rushed so it would release alongside the new Avatar movie. Speaking of which, the voice acting in this game is rather mediocre in part due to being done by none of the original voice actors, similar to the new movie. Apparently there's a push so the voice actors "better represent" the fictional characters, but in a fantasy world like this with established voice actors already it is a bad take in my opinion. More than likely, it was done for budgetary reasons which is understandable however (as even Dante Basco who is Asian was recast). As far as the game itself, the gameplay seems good and fun, but many things surrounding it aren't. For instance, there are very few settings and the cutscenes automatically rush through certain voicelines/text on screen instead of giving you a chance to see them. Further problems include that there are only 1 on 1 private lobbies, no spectator mode, no public lobbies, no 3+ player private lobbies, you are forced into character choices really quickly when in a private lobby, there's no difficulty for AI in any mode, the tutorials/training aren't all doable so one can't even get all the achievements yet, and the list could go on. On the bright side, the campaign is pretty funny despite being a bit nonsensical and not having a story that one would write home about. I also wish the campaign didn't make you play Korra that much more than other characters, although she is one of the easier ones to play so it is forgivable. Would probably recommend to wait for a few patches at least for most people that are somewhat interested and a sale for a bit cheaper for those not convinced with what they see.
its a fun game, tons of styles and so much more to discover.
Generational Fighting Game, played for 27 hours so far only using Zuko, most of those hours are in training mode and I feel like I barely know half the things this character can do. (That's a good thing) Little rough around the edges but damn it's fun
This game is an absolute blast. Avatar Legends nails the look and feel of the show while making you genuinely feel like a real bender. What really stands out, though, is the gameplay. The combat system has real depth, and there’s a ton to learn. Finally, a fighting game that isn’t afraid of execution, difficult combos, and rewarding players for putting in the time. In an era where so many modern fighters are pushing simplified controls and lowering the execution barrier, this game is a breath of fresh air. The best part is that it’s still approachable. You can have fun mashing buttons with friends on day one, but once you start digging into the mechanics, the skill ceiling is incredibly high. Easy to pick up, hard to master—that’s exactly what a fighting game should be. I really hope the somewhat poor launch doesn’t hurt this game’s future because it deserves a thriving community. I also hope its success sends a message to the genre: there is still a large audience that wants technical, execution-heavy fighting games. Lowering the skill ceiling and removing execution isn’t what keeps players invested, nor is it the only way to attract newcomers. As someone who loves competitive fighting games, this is exactly the kind of title I’ve been waiting for. I haven’t had this much fun learning a new fighter in years. If you’re looking for a fighting game with real depth, expressive mechanics, and a high skill ceiling, I can’t recommend this game enough.

They nailed it. Art style, sound effects, music stay true to Avatar. Pretty easy to pick up, with there being a lot of depth to dive into longterm. Fast paced, which I'm personally not as big a fan of normally, but here it doesn't detract from the experience. Combo length and the number of neutral interactions feel amazing, good back and forth between the two players. Lots of personal expression and playstyles available to explore.
