cheating is impossible. accidently spend all my money on destroyers instead of colony ships.
Game is buggy. Hard to run it from an iphone as the battel royal keeps disappearing. Tried to help a friend by having him log in from my account, it replaced mine with his and now we both can't do battle royale. Tried running his account from various devices, too many issues.
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.

Warning: In-Game Cash Shop This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money/credit card details to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.
Astro Wars is not to be confused with the 1980's childrens electronic toy of the same name, but you could confuse it with a browser game, because that's what it looks like. Thematically ripping off Master Of Orion but with a much shallower set of gameplay, this is just a menu clicker where you have to use your imagination to pretend you're running a star empire and you also have to pretend there's other players, because in reality there are none. Because this is garbage. So, "Astro Wars" is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the Game. They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text/images... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. A peak of 6 concurrent users (according to SteamDB) for a "free" game is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential players here on Steam, almost nobody was interested. Even though this is "free". That level of rejection speaks a lot for the quality of the product. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.

I don't know what was so broken that making an account in the first place doesn't even work but that should not be on the player to have to deal with. "Your character name has illegal characters" was either referencing the characters of the alphabet I used in my ruler name or the email at outlook I've been using for years. I can't imagine english is so tough that they meant it was the friggin password but if it's breaking this early in the process, I can't imagine how the rest of the experience must be. Hard pass.
