Assetto Corsa EVO

VR Performance has drastically improved from I want a refund state to actually playable and enjoyable. I'm not going to give a bad review because the game isnt going to have a story mode or w/e the kids want. I like that its straight to the point, no progression, just pick a car you want to race and go. Do not lock cars behind a wall! Thnx

The realism is superb and the speed simulation is just nice to experience.

It crashes randomly, the mouse and/or GUI constantly freeze, the VR graphics stutter badly even at lowest settings with max foveated rendering on a 5070ti and 9850x3d, and the force feedback and wheel effects lack the detail needed to feel whats happening with the car which leads to constatly loosing control. The FFB also caused a weird whining sound on my RS50 that I haven't heard with any other sim. This experience has been the polar opposite than my experience with Assetto Corsa Competizione or even Assetto Corsa Rally with UEVRInjector. Evo feels more irrealistic than GT7 and looks much worse with the same PS VR2. The cars also sound terrible compared to every other sim racing title I've tried. I immediately wanted to go back to iRacing after trying this for an hour. iRacing runs circles around Evo on every front. Having cool road cars to drive on Evo does not make up for the mess that everything else is. I hope they sort all of this out eventually, but in the mean time it just feels like this sim is very far from prime time. I've put in my request for a refund.
