Assetto Corsa EVO

I don't know if this is a positive or a negative review, this game is so meh, like when it came out there was no content to make anything about. Now there is but they cut so much from what was promised that it almost feels like we got lied to, we were told a solo story and a Horizon competitor for the open world, were both announced and told we were getting them. Then at the beginning of '26 they cut all that progress and promises and still it doesn't feel fun. It's meh, if you want an insanely detailed sim without buying Iracing then get it but if you just want a fun game to learn racing then don't buy it, depends on your reasoning.

They needed a greater understanding of their capability vs what they wanted to achieve, this game has massively overpromised and under delivered, and it isn't a simple case of being in early access, we should have seen at least a hint of free roam 5 versions ago, we got nothing, in fact they took more features away since then, because they realised they can't deliver, it's a complete shell of what was sold, Steam should look into mandatory refunds because this game literally delivers 10% of what it offered and it barely works.

If you want a Forza Horizon with much better physics but more bugs, less polish, only a handful of cars, and zero progression system, Assetto Corsa EVO is for you. KUNOS removed career mode, removing the only thing that made AC EVO unique and worth any amount of money. - If you want free roam, Forza Horizon has leaps and bounds more content, more to do, more polish, and fewer bugs. AC EVO has much better physics compared to Forza Horizon's arcade physics. - If you want quality racing, any other Assetto Corsa game is a better fit. - If you want Gran Turismo on PC, unfortunately there is no answer. AC EVO had the most basic sample of what a career mode could be and then removed it because "no one played it" -- because it was an incomplete mess with nothing to do. I will revisit my review if KUNOS ever makes Assetto Corsa EVO worth more than $5, but there is no content for $40, too many bugs, only a handful of cars, no career mode or progression, and seemingly no future. My fault for buying into Early Access game while believing in the studio and wasting my money; don't be like me.

Terrible performance & scrapped the major selling point of this game originally: career mode Don't buy this P.O.S. game

Bought a long time ago, played very little, the game was in a horrible state, not much to play in singleplayer and in a rough state while running, frame dips were plenty. Almost refunded, but thought "just let the game on library and check later, maybe much later" Launched the game today, still in rough shape, still almost no reason to play singleplayer, but wanted to see if the game was, at least, optimized. Crashed while loading a practice race. Not to mention how the developer launched a rally sim also in early access. It will be years until this game is in acceptable state, forget the whole "freeroam" promise, I doubt we won't have even a career mode for a long while. Don't encourage this behavior just because the previous game was good, this one feels like a train wreck.

Crashes on AMD RX 5700 XT on launch. Does not work at all. Tried different drivers and everything. Very disappointing.
