Great game, I won't even comment on the Ubisoft launcher because I think everybody knows that their launcher sucks.

Assassin's Creed Unity, one of the last classic Assassin's Creed games before Ubisoft decided to branch out into the RPG genre. For me, it's still one of the biggest missteps since the decision that Watch Dogs 2 had to be more colorful and fun. The game features a story that lasts just under 12 hours and still feels like a true Assassin’s Creed game—the climbing, sneaking, and combat all feel great in the narrow streets of downtown Paris. It’s a shame the game didn’t get much attention at launch (bugs, glitches, constant crashes, etc.), because all of that has since been fixed and it’s a great game to play now. Sure, the climbing is a little clunky at times, but otherwise it’s a 10/10 Assassin’s Creed game. That said, I do have one exception: the Dead Kings DLC is, to put it mildly, a 4/10, since the story is very boring, the gameplay feels rather forced, and there are fewer stealth sections—it’s more of a berserker run than anything else. Still, I recommend this game to anyone who wants to experience a true Assassin’s Creed again before Origins changed the genre.
