I mean, it's free, it's fun, and it's better than War Thunder. What more can you ask for? 100% recommend!
Before I played Armoured Commander, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good

An Interesting strategic game if you can get past the DOS era game play restrictions.
Armoured Commander is an ASCII "art" 2D retro text based turn based strategy with RPG like elements (your crew has stats, special abilties etc). Control a battle tank in WW2 using a text based, keyboard only interface. This game would probably be considered a must have, one the best games ever in the world... in the 1980's. It's 2022. The industry moved on. Pretending 3D graphics weren't invented is not doing a service to the industry. At least they could have given us the ability to use a mouse. Hunting and pecking on the keyboard like a caveman... I don't know what they were thinking. Yes, it's all very charming, but it's the 21st century now, and consideration must be given to the gamers experience with a product. Locked resolution and controls, as well as the horribly outdated game design (I know this was done on purpose, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea) make this impossible to recommend, it doesn't meet the standards of modern video games. Much as the developers weren't able to work out how to do modern graphics, they also didn't bother with specific level design, opting to try to use samey procgen algorithms as a substitute for content. While this is free, it's only going to appeal to people looking for some nostalgia, and all they will actually get out of this is a reminder why things like 3D graphics and mouse interfaces were invented and how much better things are today than they were back in the 1980s.
This game looks like it was made in the eighties, but it's still a lot of fun. On top of that the developer is offering it for free.
Shot a Jagdpanzer IV in the hull and did no damage, it instantly crit-rolled me and penetrated my tank in the turret afterward. Amazing game.
