The levelling 1-20 experience was fun. There's just not much game. There looked like a lot of options for stuff to craft but none of it mattered, I levelled to 20 without crafting anything anyway using sub-10 gear. I did all the quests. I did a lot of tasks from the mission boards. It all worked well. The map is a lot of dead paths that say "Coming Soon" but adding new zones or levels just adds a few more hours of gameplay so I don't see much value there. I'm not sure what they could do to make me want to keep playing at a max level. Most of my hours are AFK waiting for my wife to play with me. There's maybe about 10 hours of gameplay right now.
Failing to to harvest a single wheat for over a minute is in no definition of fun or engaging, especially, when you need 120 wheat. Monsters are way too close together, you have to kill 8 monsters just to get to the wheat and each one takes 30s to a full minute.

No thanks. the combat is not very good tbh.
Decent so far. Can't overthink it. It's a retroish mmorpg. Nothing fancy, just basic mmo stuff. Add some of your own music in the background. Not very challenging in the competitive sense but that's the casual experience I'm going for. We'll see if I continue or stop playing.
I've sunk 15 hours into this game and have hit the current level cap of 20. Having seen all there is to see in it's current state, I'd still recommend jumping in and enjoying a retro RPG, if that's your thing. This isn't exactly an MMO, it's more of an online RPG. And it works, as long as you're willing to put up with retro-styled gaming interface. You can party with other online players, create guilds and chat. And combat and fetch quests are as classic as they come. Unfortunately, the current online player count is pretty low and there is a fixed amount of game content that can be mostly covered in about 10 hours of play time. I happen to enjoy this game quite a bit and am looking forward to future content updates.
100% oof.
what a bad game, monsters respawn too quick in the starting area. you get overrun, then use items to restore hp and those dont even have an effect. the combat is a joke also.
It was really hard to decide whether to thumbs up or thumbs down. If there was a neutral rating, I would have done that, but since I did end up crashing out, I gotta go with thumbs down. The game is really fun and seriously has a lot of potential, so don't let what I'm about to say in the next paragraph make it seem like there's nothing of value here. The quest/task system is great. The combat system is fun, but flawed (more on that in a minute). I enjoy levelling my gathering skills and crafting things. The Warp Stone system is super helpful. There's a ton about this game that's done right. About 9 hours in (Idk why Steam says I've only played 4 hours..?), I got to Defier's Reach and the Waterfall Cave. I'm on two quests; one where I'm supposed to track down 6 guys in Defier's Reach, and the other where I'm supposed to recover stolen mining supplies in the Waterfall Cave. The biggest problem is that enemy density is a lot more problematic when compared to the starting areas. Now, it's much harder to just pick one enemy off and fight them. You generally get swarmed by 4 enemies. This also makes it very hard to run around and explore, or locate the 6 people you're supposed to talk to for your quest. This one quest would take hours if I have to fight all those enemies. And you can't just run through them. They will chase you halfway across the map, and you WILL die. The range that enemies chase you, is absurd. The worst part is that, even if they do disappear and go back to their spawn, something weird in the games code makes them remember their aggression towards you, and if you re-enter the screen that they're on, everything will start chasing you again. I ran through an area to escape being chased by like 4 enemies, but I just kept running into more and more enemies, and eventually I had like 40 things chasing me. They all despawned, but anywhere I went on that map, things kept aggroing me in droves. The final thing that I've noticed that makes things difficult is the respawn rate. Enemies respawn too quickly. I cannot make progress into the Waterfall Cave, because I kill the first 5 enemies, and by the time I kill the fifth enemy, the first one respawns and starts attacking me again. How am I expected to progress into the cave to do the quest? Do I have to over-level to do quests that are then below my level? Suggestions: -Make it so that ONLY alike enemies will attack you if you attack one of them within aggro range. For example, if I attack a slime that's next to 2 different enemies and another slime, only the two slimes will attack me. It makes no sense for them to all be working together. -Greatly reduce the range at which enemies chase you. -Reduce the respawn rate, and tie it to how many players are in the area at the time.
Given my age, I have always been a big fan o 8 bit rpg's especially zelda/pokemon/phantasy star, so upon seeing the early access to Ancible online decided to give it a try, Upon logging in, I am faced with a simple character builder, but for the style this can be slightly overlooked. I chose ranger to start and began my journey. As I wondered around dream tree temple like a broken compass I eventually found my bearings and started to quest. The game is grindy. but in my experience they all are in their own way, and found the structure of story quest, repeatable quests x 5 and then a follow on quest for most areas. This can, for the impatient be a bit of a slog, as it was for me but managed to lvl up to the current max of 20. Long story short I now have a lvl 20 Warr , lvl20 Ranger and now working on a cleric (yes I spent a little $$). Overall the game needs a lot of work and im sure a lot of us know it, but being early access I do hope for a lot more content to come, and a lot of improvements the games needs. This needs to be done sooner rather than later in my opinion, as it will fall in to that 'Ghost town' section of games, as players are maxing out both slots and are having to wait for added content. I really do not want this to happen as the games has potential, but as i said it needs major work. Personally I would like to see a bigger bank storage, a cooking skill as we have the mats but no way of using them (you have an oven in the craft room at the back so im guessing its a work in progress). Allow removal of gems, as the drop chance is ridiculous, allowing less time grinding for mats. I pray for success but its down to the Devs, I hope you have major plans in place and look forward to seeing the next and hopefully swift update,
