a game about accessibility settings that's just a *bit* too hard for you to play effectively. 10-15 minutes in length with 30+ minutes of developer commentary!

About
A short game about the importance of accessibility. This game explores the impact of accessibility settings through a short, playable experience, forcing players to confront exactly how it feels... to play an unplayable game.
an unplayable game?! is not a typical platformer. It is designed to test your understanding of movement mechanics, turning every jump into a micro-puzzle... to complete it, you'll have to rely on problem-solving instead of dexterity.
Proudly made over the course of 140+ hours of human effort (the trailer was made at 120 hours but i did a LOT more bug-fixing and polish afterwards), this game contains NO generative AI output, and AI was not used in any capacity during the game's construction.
This is my first solo game, and that's important to me. I made it, I made uncountable decisions to bring it into existence, and so I documented it...
~25 commentary tracks, totaling over 30 minutes, spread across the game to give players a peek behind the curtain during their second playthrough. Tracks go over the how and why I made an unplayable game?!, firmly anchoring the human artistry into the game itself.

First thing, I absolutely loved that when you put your mouse on top of the arrows of the controller (in the game) it has a sound and it's extremly satisfatory! Like a sound for when you go to an arrow to another arrow! Omg it made me so immersive! Now, I didn't know what to expect of this game but it made me feel all warm, expecially the dev comments that I heard later. I admit that I teared up with some of them, god having a dev put thought on the players made me so happy bc I did art for a gamejam and damn making a game is SO MUCH WORK! And I understand that people may overlook doing the acessibility setting, but it's such a lovely thought

A really good way of bringing the point of accessibility in gaming home for people that don't have identified accessibility needs. It will leave you with outsized thoughts for its extremely short runtime.
A super short but enjoyable game, that describes itself well. It makes you think about what accessibility means, by using accessibility settings to circumvent unfair rules that the game itself imposes. A worthwhile play for anyone who thinks about being a game designer.
a short but fun game.
as someone who advocates for accessibility in video games, highly recommend this game to Anyone who's interested in learning about how accessibility options make games way more playable :3
This game taught me a lot about game development and accessibility. If you like longform analysis content on Youtube ala Noodle, you'll love the topic this game covers.
as someone who at times struggles with twitch reflexes and memory: this game certainly captures the feeling of struggle
