So, you're thinking about buying Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2…
A quick preview of my experience after 80h (completing all missions on the highest difficulty, 50 rounds of horde, maxing all classes and weapons).
Its fun! The shooting and movement feels good, I like all the customization (cosmetics, weapon mods, skins, challenge cards) the environments look great and gives the Aliens vibe really well. the missions are a decent length, usually consisting of, move here, activate thing, defend, move on... repeat, horde mode at the higher difficulties require a good build and synergy within the team, a fun experience imo.
I enjoyed trying new weapons and there is a great variety. I do recommend the game IF you have a few mates wanting to play/Love the Aliens franchise/ this game is on sale, definitely give it a try!
DO NOT waste money on the DLC, over priced garbage skins and locks out a couple of weapons (Very anti consumer)
HOWEVER, the story, ABYSMAL, dog water, like nails on a chalk board. Essentially its: rescue mission, evac our team, find the doctor in distress and slowly uncover the truth…. But after every mission, the game has you speaking to an NPC with dialogue choices, I have never skipped through a story like I did with this game.
There are new and returning NPCs, but ALL the writing and actor direction is atrocious, they incessantly call you: Hotshot! There’s the over the top hard ass chick who never lets up, the stoic general chick whose just kinda there, the humanoid synth that is actually well voiced, but her script is terrible… then Piper, the happy go lucky, newbie, straight out of the academy, UNBAREBLE, constant ‘ermmm, the room went red, that’s, ermm really bad guys’ style dialogue. Then there is Raptor, our cool pilot that cracks witty one liners, except that hes extremely uncool, jokes CONSTANTLY with a combine total of zero humour. The game is wanting you to take it seriously, whilst seemingly written by an edgy 14 year old boy why wanted to right cool characters and bad ass chicks.. but failed miserably and should never be lead write on anything again. I turned off Dialogue Volume by the end.

Other issues can be fixed, some performance issues, glitches and bugs. Otherwise, they could do with adding more rewards and gear from the first game, missing weapons, prestige system, text chat, join in progress, equipping different gear on bots, more skin colour options, a training room to test builds, fix and add to horde mode rewards.
All in all, a fun game, pick up on a sale if you are on the fence, hopefully it will improve and add more over the coming months.
