After 78.9 hours to get all achievements i can easily say i got my money's worth with this game. Even though the game had a rough launch with stutters and some minor bugs the updates that have been coming out are slowly making the game more stable and enjoyable. There's 37 guns to grind in the game and a bunch of stuff to buy in the store. If you're looking for a fun horde shooter that will easily make you grind more than a 100 hours for a full completion run this game is for you or if you simply enjoyed the first game. If you're a casual gamer that only wants to complete the game a few times like the campaign or horde mode just wait for the game to go on sale. I give this game a solid 8/10. I'm excited for the DLC Campaign hopefully its more than one DLC to keep us hooked long term or some mod support for endless replay value.
Game is highly satisfying and addicting. Since launch it has its fair share of bugs and issues but none of them are game breaking, devs are actively working on fixing andf attentive to the player base. You will see people giving this thumbs down and whinning like little girls. Is the story amazing...no, does the diologue suck...yes. But thats not what you are here for, you are here to annihilate xenos hundreds at a time, try not to shoot your buddy in the back of the head when he strafes in front of you, and look cool doing it. Replayability is here, harder difficulties reward new weapons and ways to play. 8/10 - money well spent.
Good Co-op fun to play with fun and kill stuff .
Is Aliens Fireteam 2 better than 1? Yes. Technically speaking is an improvement in every way (still a few bugs, which I expect to be corrected) but I do agree in a few things most critics point. 1)The alien atmosphere was better in AFE1. Cold Iron has taken what built in the first installment and has chosen to build up from there, which is a brave move (can you imagine what people would say if enemies were exactly the same ones than in AFE1? There are no more movie xenos to show -unless you want Ripley´s alien resurrection baby- so Cold Iron decided to add a few more) but has consequences as mentioned. 2)Also, AFE2 does not provide so many safe spaces as AFE1 did, something they know since there is no achievement for every mission completed on Extreme or Insane difficulty anymore. You "only" need one mission completed in each difficulty to get two different achievemnts. Is that good or bad? Up to the player. I believe it can be mitigated with careful playing, but people like to rush in and if you dont, you will find yourself alone. 3(The criticism about aliens spawning in the same places is however something I share. Its there. And is a wasted opportunity to create hordes with own and unique behaviour. 4)The criticism about every important person in the game being female...again, up to you but it is a thing. Dont get me wrong, I am all in about equality. Hell, Alien was one the first movies depicting a strong female main character but this game features as female every single person with authority. 5)The criticism about mediocre writing, worse than in AFE1 (subjective as it is) is in my opinion true. And still, a blast.
fun cordination game, with a few bug fixes this game wold be even better
Just like the first but more content! better card system for challenges that stack. Wish they would allow the first games missions in this game.
I have enjoyed this game as an alien fan. Feels familiar to the first but with some good changes. Honest opinion if you aren't a big fan of Aliens or horde shooters this probably wont feel like a good fit. The classes have unique feels but ultimately its shooting ALOT of Xenos. It's definitely meant to have the co-op feel so find some fellow friends and pile the acid blooded bugs up. Happy Hunting!
I had to play 50 hours to get my money's worth on this. Don't buy this unless its in 85% sale. Overpriced downgrade with very little upgrade Story is lackluster and underwhelming with cringed dialog that requires the smoothest brain to immerse with the story. Story is rushed and 15 missions. Just beat the story in casual to unlock weapons and mods along the way, so that you can unlock horde mode at the end of campaign. Took me about 7 hours to slog through the dialog and story. And, focus on 1 kit throughout the campaign. I bet the next dlc is gonna be 1 map and a lot of cosmetics, if there's going to be one. Hopefully not as expensive as the skins and 2 weapons they sell.... Sound effects delay frequently throughout my 1st playthrough. The music is an enchanced version from the first game. I turned off all audio after my 1st playthrough except for the sound effects. I couldn't stand hearing the dialog throughout each mission. Game is riddled with bugs on campaign and horde mode. Before and after the first patch...... Cutscenes look like from the PS2 era. And, cutscenes don't finish before getting into the game again. It just cuts abruptly and makes no sense to add cutscenes. All the girl bosses faces lookalike. Spoiler Women unleashed 1 Zenomorph because her work is being taken and not recognized/reciprocated from the experiments she caused to the colonists.... to Weyland.... and everything gets scuffed at the end from said company. So, none of this was meaningful to the firesquad..... Gameplay is fun, because we shoot aliens and robots. The kits are meh. Player level maxes at 50. AF1 was 100. Items is a downer. Only 1 per mission and items only drop for 1 person per crate. If you enjoy shooting aliens and can ignore the story, sure its fun. But wait till a big sale drops. The devs could've done an overhaul of the 1st game. Just added voice chat and 1 more slot would've been the greatest, but no. A sequel had to made with more/less effort. 5/10
Game is good but VERY BUGGY! PLEASE FIX IT!
