So I played the first Fireteam, but this one needed another month or EA since its a buggy mess. Cons: 1. Textures looks very good until it decides to blur in and out while playing or in cutscenes 2.Longer game stays open the laggier it gets, some memmory leak issue that happens often but not every time 3. Frame rate tanks/lag during many hordes of enemies. The final 2 missions had the most lag that the queen was basically spinning in circles half the time because I couldn't even tell what animation she was doing 4. Some areas can lock out a player if one player walks too far forward and that player just wasted 20-30min if they are host. This happens quite easily when looking for hidden cache. This directly punishes those that played the first game since we would backtrack to chokepoints. 5. They need better communications for the fireteam since there's not even text communication. Even Dark and Darker had better team communicaiton system 6. Other various bugs like medkit bug. You used your medkit but the game still thinks you have one so you cant pick up new medkits. 7. The voice acting could use more work. Raptor argueably had the best VA Pros: 1. If you liked the first game, you'll like this one as well 2. Mechanics improved from the first game especailly the class system 3. A lot of options to tune your class so when they say no 2 class is the same they mean it. Impressive perk tree TLDR: Feels like they didn;t have anyone play test the game before launch. This would be sorta acceptable if EA, but for full release, it need more time in the oven
Look Im open minded but this game was bad. Pros: Similar to the last game combat wise Enemy were decent. Cons The AI teammates were terrible. To the point they would shoot the wall and not help. god forbid I was attacked and they are still crouched behind a wall. Dialog was horrid. I never felt so terrible for a game when the dialog is very jarring. it was also very tone deaf. The first 2 missions were so bad I turned off the voices and subtitles because of how they talked. It one thing to make a joke in the heat of the moment. but they are making jokes constantly to the point you just sit there and shake your head. not worth the price save yourself the money. I wouldn't get this game on sale unless the voices and AI were completely reworked
Recommended but with a lot of caveats. Rough around the edges, unskippable cutscenes, some connection issues (especially when playing with PC and console players), and some graphical oddities, but I didn't get the performance issues a lot of people are claiming. My big issue with the game is the voice acting and dialogue are TERRIBLE. Whoever thought Piper was a good character should never work in this business again. 30 minutes in and I was just hammering the skip button in every interaction. I wish they could be re-done or re-dubbed because the characters are absolutely idiotic.
Great Sequel. Definitely scratching the same itch as the first game.
I hate to see it, but a lot of the reviews for this game are just plain misinformed. This game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SLAPS. There are 15 missions (though the last two are done back-to-back, with no rest in between), five classes plus multiclassing (the sixth 'class' lets you equip all unlocked skills from the other five). Weapons are (with the exception of Duelist being weird) equipable on all classes once fully leveled. Customization of gear is MASSIVELY expanded since the first game, and the higher level class unlocks are insanely fun. I honestly could talk about this game for hours, but ultimately the TLDR is to ignore the review bombing, this is far better than any other shooter I have tried in the last couple years.
Good Game
Before you get to shoot a xenomorph, you get introduced to 4 girl bosses, then rescue another and then another. Not a single, male bad-ass. And then there's the atrocious NPC talks with multiple choice answers but NONE matter at all, making the conversations derivative and pointless. Gameplay-wise, it feels like the first game, I like the new classes, weapons, the way you can change your weapon behaves. It feels like there's a lot, a LOT more xenos, and it feels as if the game is just spewing them out way too fast during hordes, making anything but Marauder (1st game's Demolisher) the only class that will keep you and the team safe with the Smartgun...which sounds sort of worse than in the first game. All that aside, it's still a better game than Colonial Marines and a fun horde-shooter to play with friends or randoms. Lock it in, Marines.
yes
The dialog and the support characters are bad. The game play is not bad, some camera glitches which i hope will be fixed in the future. Is it worth it. I want to say no. I would tell any of my friends to wait for a sale to buy this game.
